I’m struggling to get along with the crossfire red dot. Quality is good, fit finish etc, dot is clean, glass is clear enough. The problem I’m having is when I look through the optic, I get double vision. So I look at the target, bring the optic between me and the target, and I realize the view through my right eye must be slightly angled up through the optic. The target moves slightly down.
I tested it by using a straight edge of a roof line, with both eyes open, I had two parallel lines, the line on the left being slightly higher than the one on the right, the right being my dominant eye looking through the optic, eyes focused on the target.
I have other dot sights, MRO, Holosun and Sig, none of them cause me this issue. The guys at the shop purchased from claim all dot sights do this and acted like I was expecting too much, but did offer to take it back, exchange, so no real complaint there. We did compare to another cross fire and it was the same for me. The Sig Romeo 4 they had there did not cause the eye strain for me.
I can feel my eyes straining when using this optic. Is this something unique, knowing everyone is different and maybe my eyes just do not work with this optic? Or am I using it incorrectly somehow? I didn’t want to return it being decent, affordable dots are a bit scarce at the moment. Thanks
