Quoted:Hi - figured I would have seen something about your "Gen2" Strike Eagles since PSA is selling them.
Can you detail what differences we can expect with the Gen2 compared to the Gen1? I can compare lengths, weights, eye box, and other stats. But can you describe other upgrades like glass clarity, etc? Looking at the stats from your website, the Gen2 is heavier but otherwise the specs look pretty close. What are the benefits of the Gen2?
Thanks

The slightly heavier weight probably comes from the fact that the weight listed in the "Gen II" is with the new mag ring and thread-in throw lever and the "Gen I" didn't have that.
The optical system is essentially the same. A lot of people are calling these the "Gen II Strike Eagles", which, there really isn't another way to describe them and that's pretty easy to say/write. But in the past when we at Vortex have actually done a "Gen II" of anything and called it that ourselves, it's after a complete and total 100% redesign of everything from the ground up. That's not the case with the Strike Eagles and we're not claiming it to be. We took our two best selling products, listened to the feedback we got on them - mostly on the reticles - and made the changes people were requesting. The throw lever is an added bonus. And then on top of all that it's still the exact same price.
Hope this helps clear that up a bit. Just an update.
