In their defense, the deeper I dig into the 308 AR market, whether large or small frame, the more complex it gets and the more gremlins I realize exist. The juice just may not be worth the squeeze.

I jumped in with both feet and got an M&P 10 and than a DPMS Gen ll.
The M&P (6.5 creed) had blown primers right out of the box and FTF (Short-stroking) I had to realign the gas block because it was right up against the shoulder, and put in a heavier buffer and it went away.
The DPMS is still a work in progress to get running right.
With the AR being a hot commodity right now I'm tempted to just sell them and go with a boltgun or two for 308. I know there are far more superior AR 308's out there that will run like a thief from the get go but they are way out of my price range. The damn M&P was 1800 as it was in my AO.
I'm soured on the platform for now, but I would try a BCM if they ever came to the market.
All my BCM uppers have ran from the get go whether it was just a barrel or complete upper from them. Never had to tweek or tune anything.
