I'm not getting a 35% off mea culpa discount. At retail are the Super Duties worth the squeeze especially with the "growing pains" they've been experiencing of late? Or should I just get another SR15.
Also, does anyone know if they have an ISO 9001 or similar QMS certification? |

The black one for $1750 is a good deal for the features it has, compared to other factory rifles. They are smooth shooters

In my opinion no the one i shot was just a rifle nothing mind blowing, i spent around 1300 on a full centurion build and side by side at the range i preferred my centurion . But it comes down to individual preferences.

I'm pretty sure the 20% off coupons work on them and I am positive that if you're going to buy a Super Duty rifle, you can get your hands on a 20% coupon code. And at that price, yes it's worth it.
Otherwise do as above, buy from Primary Arms or some other vendor. Like, recently, the 11.5" Super Duty pistol listed $1,900 on the G website but $1,750 at Primary Arms. 20% off at G would be $1,520 though so get a coupon code if and when you can get what you want in stock from G |

I have been nothing but completely satisfied with my Super Duty rifles and pistol. Available money is going to be a greater deterrent to picking up more than the price vs. features ratio. Of course I'd prefer a lower price, somewhere in the 1600-1700 range would still be a great deal and would have me able to pick up a lot more to set up in a variety of ways.
|
|
Whether or not it's a good value depends on whether or not you care about the custom characteristics. You save money on the premium you would otherwise pay for colored anodizing on all parts, custom ambi charging handles, custom DLC bolt carrier groups, custom trigger, custom buffer and buffer spring, custom DLC-coated SureFire flash hider, etc etc. Almost nothing in the Super Duty rifles are actually milspec aside from the mag release and the receivers.
If you don't really care about all that, then plenty of other options will do everything the Super Duty does at a lower cost. |
|
No way not at full price, I wouldn't even buy another one with the apology coupons they sent with my original SD.
I prefer my DD over the Geissele rifle. |
|
Grab a 35% off coupon from the EE. Even if you pay 100-150 for it (seems to be the going rate), you still come out saving some money.

Just observing from a 30,000 ft view variations in product, plus issues with delivery and a product line with ADHD. I've seen it over and over when companies grow too quickly without rigorous change management. That's why I asked if there was a certified quality management system in place. My Spidey senses are tingling. I do think the re-branding of non-conforming parts as Count Blemula/Hungarian Moonshine "specials" is hilariously genius though. I could be/probably am wrong though. |

The lower has an awesome trigger, excellent safety, and the G buffer system. I just picked up an 11.5 pistol and they quality is excellent as well. Most of the complaints about G I have seen were about blems among the thousands of BF orders, and people who lurk and repeat the same criticisms every week or so. |

We have had a lot of great reviews and continue to get a lot of positive feedback from our customers. There has mainly been some confusion from people over the shade variations for Type 3 hardcoat anodize and some basic forge marks on the receivers as they aren't billet. Some folks expected the receivers to fit as tight as a matched billet pair but they are more in line with mil spec fitment. Because of this we added and updated our Anodize Shade Variations and Finish Methods section on our web store to help point all of that out. We've also made some tweaks to the Super Duty's since their release based on customer feedback and even expanded our selection of green colors because of how much people want them. We are continuously working hard to produce a rifle that is not only super reliable and accurate but also looks great. Thank you for looking in our direction and if you wind up going with a Super Duty rifle run it hard and please let us know what you think! -GACS |

Question: when you permanently attach the Warcomps on the 14.5" guns will you be clocking them in the neutral position to accommodate leftys? If memory serves Surefire made a run of neutral Warcomps for SOF so maybe you are going with those? Cheers |

I'll definitely keep updating as I get more time on the gun, especially shooting it B2B with the other guns in the stable. Good move on going to the CTN Warcomps. It saves 1/4" and 1.2 oz over the 3P where it matters especially on a 14.5", plus adds some compensation. It might not seem like much but the little things add up and at this price point I feel entitled to pick nits... |

Got my 11.5” in.
Pure. Sex. I think RustedAce posted that he couldn’t miss. That’s no joke. Shooting under an inch at 50 yds with a rmr, Wolf gold, and propped across a garbage can. Hits on 10” steel fairly easily while moving. Shoots incredibly smooth. Long recoil impulse and very little muzzle rise. Better than my SR-15 mod 1 16” I’m very pleased. Now for some magnification... |

I think you have a good product, but six sigma fails. your URGi upper receivers sometimes fit, sometimes were only milled on one side. I have one H3 spring with an H3 and another not even engraved with Geissele. I have heard of DD barrels being canted in the URGi. You need to slow down. I do believe your deeign is superior, but your executiion will not hit ISO 9001. My opinion. Tell me I am wrong. I am a fan, but consistency of what you send out is not there, and six signma is all about consistency and consitency = quality and consitency = ISO certification. |

View Quote My experience - Giessele will make it right when they make it wrong. Quality, as Jack Welch mesaured it, was about consistnecy, and thus the 6-Sigma measure it, fix it, report on it, make it not happen again. I have seen a lot of variation come out of Colt lately. Does that make their product bad? No, but McDonalds likes every Big Mac to be the same. I think some ... consistency... has been quite variable with Colt and Geissele. Both great products. I thought the ISO thingy was all about proving consistency. Maybe I am wrong. I am the last one to throw Bill's shop under the bus. I think they are doing great, and I think their narrowing of selection is good. It is a matruity thing in a business. You go from start-up to running a mature business. Geiselle is in between. I went with a family member to visit Cadex factory in Canada a few years ago. Those guys have it down. Process, Process, Process. Colot coding, yellow tape on the floor. Some more mature companies like LMT can tell you when a rifle will come off the prodcution line, 9 months from now. If I were to describe Geissele, words like innovation, experimentation, design, precision are words that come to mind. ISO, Six Sigma, Process Excellence. Not so much. Just one guy's thought. |
