That might be true, but it also very likely may not be true as well. Diopter setting will vary person by person and is entirely dependent upon your individual eye. Your setting might be the same as someone else's, but that doesn't mean everyone should stick to that setting. You'll want to adjust that focus until the image appears most close to true 1x when the magnification is set to 1x (You will notice that certain settings make it appear a bit more or less than 1x) and that should also be in a good spot where the reticle is in focus as well. In rare cases, some people have a specific diopter setting that works best on 6x, and a slightly different one that works best on 1x - they can either set it in between and just leave it, or situation-dependent, can set it at the most ideal setting for one or the other.
