I was was thinking about maybe having a smith mount a MD-ADS to a Glock 19 slide. From What I have seen I think it will hold up fine, but was wondering if I should? You guys at PA know more about the sight then I do. Is there any reason why I shouldn't? the pistol would be used for fun gunning. View Quote We do not recommed slide mounting becasue in the past we had the screws strip out when testing. That was two generations back. If you want to try one I will cover the warranty and shipping bith ways if it fails. |

Just the fact it had an ARD(killflash) available for it made it a great RDS. The flip-up covers are an OK feature but having a killflash made it VERY desirable, especially considering Aimpoint's H1/T1 don't even have this accessory available. I have an older MD-SP that came with a PA QD 1/3 lower co-witness mount and it was threaded for a killflash, which I purchased of course. It has been FANTASTIC over the last few years. I've used it on several of my ARs and it has always held a zero even after many times of mounting/unmounting it. It has a 3 MOA dot but I STILL manage to shoot groups tighter than the dot size at 100 yards(aim small-HIT small ). It also uses Aimpoint H1/T1 mounts. ETA- The middle cross slot is a little wider on the sight than necessary but the screw hole pattern is the same as AP H1/T1 mounts. Please bring back a similar model or have the MD-ADS threaded for a killflash for future models. I don't need flip-up covers, even though I know some people like them. I rarely cover the lenses and when I do, the bikini is fine. Here is my favorite PA red dot...I believe it was similar to either the MD-07 or the MD-06L, I'm not sure which. I also loved the left side adjustment knob. It made more sense for a right handed shooter to adjust it with his/her off-hand. Oh, one more thing. while I can appreciate leaving the red dot on for five years without worrying about the battery, I simply turn mine off when I'm not on the range or training and I haven't had to change the battery in almost two years. I guess my point is if the original battery life is the hold-up for producing these, I'll vote for the original battery life. |

I have a 1.5 year old Micro Dot on a non-QD Daniel Defense mount, and it's given good service so far. My question pertains to the brightness adjustment knob and its 'stops' when it reaches the end of its rotation. Mine doesn't stop anymore, rather it can be spun a full 360 degrees. The red dot still works as it should and holds zero, I'm just curious as to what may have happened to the switch.

So I picked up a PA Microdot MD-FBGII and in having a strange double image problem like the optics are slightly out of wack.
See here. Any suggestions? Are they all like this? The effect is small, but makes it really difficult to shoot both eyes open. |

Inside, outside, close range, long range, brightest through dimmest settings and even turned completely off, sunny, cloudy, etc - the double image always is there. I've really racked my brain on this thinking it was me, but my first TRS25 doesn't have it, my second did, and my new PA Micro does it too. I e even swapped the optics to different guns and looked through them uncounted - the issue is always present. The effect is less pronounced in the lower 1/4 of the glass, moderately pronounced at the dot, and most pronounced at the upper part of the glass. |

The angled front lens will cause some shift but it should have not impact in use. It is there if you look for it. Have you taken it to the range to test shooting with both eyes open yet? |

I could accept that I'm just overly sensitive to any shift, but my Bushnell TRS25 (which is almost identical to the PA Microdot in design/build) doesn't shift the image at all. I originally ordered a second TRS25, but it had this issue too. Returned it and got the PA, and it has the issue. None of my other RDS have this issue. I guess I'm wondering if this is more of a manufacturing tolerance issue and I just got lucky with my first TRS25, or if it's actually a defect somehow. |

After talking with Marshall a little while back, I was assured the micro dot can handle the recoil of a .308.
I needed something to do so I placed an order for a Micro dot, riser, and a couple more mags. .308 carbine test coming up |

Primary arms..I'm looking at your Advanced micro dot for $169.00 I think was the price..before I purchased though I need to ask..it's going to be on a Atlantic arms mp5 clone... And the mount I was also thinking of using is a Kley-Zion from botach off eBay (cheapest I've found it sofar for around $30)...do you happen to know if these two together will line up properly or will I or should I get one of your risers also..and if so which one would you recommend ..
If you know of a better suited mount instead of the kley-Zion please let me know that as well..cost is definitely a concern..disabled former Texas Leo living off the grace of my once paid tax dollars. Appreciate it, Jackpot |

Appreciate your thoughts on it To follow up on my question to hopefully help someone else down the road...I was unable to find any information on the setup of the primary arms advanced micro dot and the kley-zion aimpoint H-1 mount ( clone of the aimpoint 10266)....I took a chance and purchased both along with the kley-zion H-1 qd mount which was $19 ...I was not able to get the Primary arms attached directly to the mount though the qd mount would...so I took the base off the red dot and attached the qd mount in its place..it's not a perfect match directly on top of the front post as some like it..it's a little above it..but I like it... I also replaced the rear drum with the correct hk mp5 drum..and I'm guessing I got the line up off when doing so..the red dot is a click or two to the right of the post.. The primary arms looks great on it....looking forward to sighting the drum and it in. Jackpot Edited to add :: I do wish I'd had more patience and spent a few more dollars and got the primary arms one that has the circle and the red dot both....having stickinmyeyetisum sucks.. |

Mine has the glare. Didn’t notice until the first Range trip. Red glare in upper left field of view...
Brighter than my TRS-25 on highest setting. N1 setting naked eye visible. Fix the glare/reflection issue and the N1/N2 issues and it would be great. |

No night vision compatibility, 11 total brightness settings and the scope body is H1 / T1 mount compatible. Engineering has one in the "museum" of discontinued PA optics, but we have no spare parts for them if something goes wrong. I don't know what you're looking at paying for it, but keep in mind that we have brand new MD-RB-ADs, super tough with 50,000 hours of battery life and a lifetime warranty for $150 in stock and ready to ship. |

Yes, that glare happens at certain angles and lighting conditions. It's common with a lot of red dots but something we will definitely be working to improve in the next generation.

I got in on the blem'd Advanced Micro Dot deal last December. It was the one with machining error on the base. Well, I finally got around to mounting it last weekend on my 1st budget build. A 16" Delton upper, nothing special about it just a reliable and accurate shooter.
Started at 25 yds to be sure I was on paper with three shots, this is the 1st pic. Very satisfied with that went to 50 yrds which is the 2nd pic. Another group of three and still low even with one flier. An obvious over zealous adjustment up as I kept my ear plugs in didn't hear the clicks. Those are the 2" high marks, made another adjustment down and that's the final tighter three right outside the bullseye. This is shooting quickly off a bench with just a bipod and 53 year old eyes. Made a one click adjustment down and didn't bother to use paper anymore. Went right to ringing steel plates at 100 and 200 yards with ease. Dot is nice and crisp, adjustments are nice and crisp, lens is nice and clear. What's not to like about this optic, especially for the price. If your on the fence about their Micro Dots, don't be pick one up and enjoy. Attached File Attached File |

Has anyone had issues with their MD-ADS? I have a safe queen rifle that had the MD-ADS on it, shot maybe 4 times since 2014, and the battery was dead. When I went to change it, the red dot is barely visible at the highest setting. I tried several batteries and even went to the store and bought new batteries. No luck.
Do these red dots just wear out over time? I know these didn't come with the lifetime warranty, so the warranty would have run out in 2017. EDIT: I was quickly contacted by someone from Primary Arms who will be swapping it out. Thank you very much!!!! |
