Quoted: I sent you a reply to your PM, but will answer it for others also. Our PSA MP5 clone will take OEM furniture. Also, as an update, we are still looking at 2019 for release. Probably 2nd or 3rd quarter. Thank you, Josiah View Quote |

So much for “late 2018”. Oh well, it’s probably for the best as I plan to buy a K and standard pistol the second they’re released... as long as they’re under $1k as some have speculated.

I guess we’re not going to hear what variants @palmettostatearmory is going to release until later?
I think an MP5K pistol with a 3 lug barrel and a side fold pistol brace would be a big seller. I’m going ahead and saving up for one no matter the version. |

So I'm going to need you guys to bump up your release date to before July 2019 to beat I-1639 so I can adequately stock up.
and bump to keep this on page 1 |

X2, even though that law doesn’t apply to me! I just want to buy one to use for the next swat simulations class!

Hello, I am really really looking forward to the release of the PSA5 next year. I know you can't give away too much, but can you tell me if the PSA5 will be compatible with OEM MP5 furniture? I want to put a factory sliding stock on it as well as a lower handguard with the integral flashlight. I wanted to know now so I can to start looking for a good deal. Basically I want this: https://i.imgur.com/Xkjoizx.jpg |

I've already decided an MP5 is next on my list. Was going to go with a Zenith, but have decided to wait and continue giving my patronage to PSA. Just promise me you'll have optic ready models with side folding pistol braces right out the gate. |

So rumors have been floating around that this will not be roller delayed but a simple blowback design in an MP5 body ... Any truth to this

That certainly defeats the purpose and sounds like something a manufacturer or owner trying to sell their own rifle might say to try to move existing inventory before PSA hits the market with prices that may very well undercut the existing market markup. I certainly hope that’s not the case. I wouldn’t be buying one at any price if it was blowback.

I just re-read a presser from the 2018 SHOT show that said:
Adam Ruonala, chief marketing officer for Palmetto, told Guns.com the planned American-made PSA5 is supposed to come to market in 2019 in both an MP5K shortie as well as a more traditional model which boasts 100 percent compatibility with legacy HK designs. View Quote Regardless, I’m not spending $1700 on an MP5 clone so either PSA makes an authentic one for <$1000, or I’ll just go without. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. |

I sure as shit wouldn't buy a blowback fake-ass "MP5" though. I like the MP5 for the action design and recoil impulse primarily - that's why I bought the Zenith I have now. If their version is just plain old blowback, there's no reason that I can see to get it over something like CZ Scorpion or one of the other 9mm subgun designs which are cheaper and more modern. But I really doubt PSA would do something like that, so I remain hopeful. |

The more I look at the reverse stretch from the K model, the more I'm leaning toward preferring the standard MP5 platform. That short handguard just isn't working for me. Plus, how are you going to do this with the K model: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/351853/7aLgHY5-429518.JPG View Quote |

I realize that this whole endeavor is aimed at a particular segment of the market, but that's just absurdly low. Even Toad Bailey never junked out hard enough to get into triple digits. I hope whatever is done, it does not divert resources from fixing the AK-V fiasco. Real Talk: PSA needs to understand simple, dumb blowback, brick-in-a-shoebox operation with a fixed ejector (and master it) before attempting to create delayed roller blowback guns. |

You don’t like that I used the word “authentic”? How else would you describe something that has 100% compatibility with HK parts? The price I stated is the max I personally would spend on a novelty like an MP5 clone. ETA: $0.00 is the amount I would be willing to spend on a blowback gun that looks like an MP5. YMMV |
