Any more news on the PSA MP5 clone? MSRP? Options? More pictures from SHOT?
|

They have a picture of it on their FB page. No notable specs or information yet though.

I will post more information as I am allowed to. I will keep you guys in the loop as much as I can.
Thank you! Josiah |

Damn! if that thing took Glock mags it would be sick. No saying I'm not interested but I'd be more interested.

Someone in the thread in GD posted this:
"What they need to build, although not tacticool, is a 16" barrel version with the 93 length handguard like the one that guy on youtube made a long time ago." I agree; this way those of us who don't want to play with braces can get a real stock version that doesn't have a ridiculous amount of barrel sticking out the front. @palmettostatearmory |

Palmetto State Armory confirms development of MP5 style pistol at SHOT Show 2018. The demonstration model they brought features a Tailhook arm brace on an MP5A5 style extending armature, with an MP5k length front end. The rear end of the gun seems to feature a standard (non-k) mounting system for braces (or stocks in the case of SBR conversions). Pricing information has not been released but one outlet states it is set to be "aggressive" in line with PSAs typical market strategies. Release date is not finalized but expected between Q4 2018 and Q1 2019 View Quote Reddit Link of guy who supplied this info |

I should mention that I'm only interested if it looks like an MP5. No stupid railed forends, and I have to be able to SBR it and put an HK style stock on.

Y'all boys are killing my checking account, it's under 1k from the email I just received

@PalmettoStateArmory
Questions that everyone would like to know: 1) Are you using all new production parts or are we looking at some recycled surplus parts combined with some new components? 2) If new production/non-HK parts, what are you using for buffer filling in the carrier? 3) Are you barrels going to be forged? 4) Are you guys going away from the traditional extractor spring that's prone to failure and replacing it with the HK21/MAD type setup as shown below: Standard HK MP5 Bolt with extractor Spring: Attached File Improved MP5 bolt using the HK21 type extractor design M.A.D that Henderson Defense swears by(Link to their experince on the machine gun rental range) Attached File |

@wangstang
We will be releasing more info about it in the near future. Thank you, Josiah |

@PalmettoStateArmory
Thanks. Just wanted to make sure you were keep a list of questions the market wants to know. I suspect the signal(Detailed questions) to noise (I hope they are $400) posts make it hard to keep track. Thanks PS: The improved internet presence and responses with detail here at AR15.com is noticed and appreciated. Please pass along my thanks for that to Management! |

View Quote I like my Glock just as much as anyone else would, but not everything needs to take Glock mags... just some things. Like Hi-Point carbines. Im imagining a number of Hi-Point fans getting mad over that... |

Dear PSA, please don't create some abortion that takes Glock mags.

Guys,
Keep the questions coming! We will answer all of them in time. We appreciate your feedback and suggestions. No, we are not making an MP5 clone that takes Glock Mags!!!!!!!! It would then cease to be an MP5 clone! Thank you, Josiah |
|
Will the gun have the look of an old school MP5? Or will there be a modernized, railed version?
Will you be manufacturing magazines? What is the price point? Will a pistol version be offered, which can be easily modified into a legal SBR? |
|
Any plans for an SD variant? Perhaps one that would allow use of common 3-lug and/or 1/2-28 9mm suppressors?
|

i am super stoked to get my hands on one of these. especially after some discussions with new friends.
Keep it up PSA. Josiah, please tell Jamin well done! :) |

A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of shooting several full auto MP5's and MP5SD's.
Two of them were Iraqi guns which were seized by our military post 2003 and brought back here to the US. I bring these up because the finish on these guns were some sort of grayish-tan color that was some paint like heavy duty finish. Not sure if it was an epoxy based paint or what but the stuff was really durable and applied only to the metal components. I was advised that they were brought back with that finish. Not sure what that paint was but it didn't appear to be duracoat, norrells moy resin or cerakote. If PSA found a way to replicate that finish, that would be pretty cool. I did notice in the video posted in one of the other threads, the PSA rep described the PA5 line as made from all American made parts by Americans, here in America. Sounds like it may be 100% new production parts. |

absolutely not. An MP5 should be an MP5. If this is under a grand, I'm in. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

But it's not an MP5. It's a clone. I like the MP5 design and I love how the brace looks on it but the ability to take cheaper, more readily available mags would make it better for what I want in a knockoff. Being from psa means that the price point and availability should be great. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yeah I know that. I’m just trying to say that if I’m going to spend money on an MP5 CLOOOOOOOOOONNEEEE, then it should have the proper form factor. View Quote |

Quoted: I get it. You want an MP5 and I want a cool looking 9mm pistol with a collapsible brace that doesnt look like a prosthetic at a decent price. PSA will probably have a daily deal where it includes 10 mags with anyway. View Quote https://kriss-usa.com/pistols/special-duty-pistol/vector-sdp-black *Edit* NVM! Any plans for a MP5N-type variant with a standard length barrel? I'd kill to be able to make a decent clone without having to spend an arm and a leg.
|
|
you guys havent posted enough pics of this "psa5" we need more pics but ONLY with the models holding them please.

The more I look at the reverse stretch from the K model, the more I'm leaning toward preferring the standard MP5 platform. That short handguard just isn't working for me.
Plus, how are you going to do this with the K model: Attached File |
