So if I wanted to be a poors and get me a 9MM PCC from PSA which one should I go for?
And no.. I don't own a glock. |

I was leaning that direction. They handle better than the AR version?

I did get one of the of PSA's AK pistols w/ the side folder in 7.62x39. What gets me when shooting it though is optics are more of a problem. Ergonomics aren't as good. Safety sucks. Mags are different from my normal guns I shoot. |

I think I have all of the above. The PSA PA-9 (glock mag AR), the AK-V (scorpion mag AK), and the AR-V (scorpion mag AR).
The glock mag AR, benefit is obviously the billions of mags available. And the cons are they look ugly as hell and you dont get a LRHBO by default. I bought a $100 upper receiver from joebob/NFA and it added LRBHO capability. The AK-V, its an AK. You can't easily swap the barrel for a different length like an AR. There's less aftermarket support. But on the plus side, you can add folding stocks and braces without paying insane amounts of money. It'll shoot while folded. And the standard mags are $14 for 35 rounds. The AR-V, its new and its sleek. Its got most of the benefits of an AR, with all the aftermarket support. Requires a proprietary upper, lower, and bolt. Parts related to LRBHO and mag catch are proprietary. You get the same magazines as the AK-V and they look a lot better than the glock mag lower. You have more freedom to make it the way you like. Mine has a 4" barrel, which is not an option with the AK-V. Its easier to work on yourself if you care about that sort of stuff. Of the 3, the AR-V is my favorite. That may be because its newest and I waited for like 2 years for it to come out. I think the AR-V and AK-V are pretty close in terms of features and value. The PA-9, I dont really shoot it that much anymore. My buddy is interested in it, and I'm probably going to end up selling it to him, even though it has my trust engraved on the side of it. It was great, but I think it was just a placeholder filling a spot while PSA designed the AR-V. The only thing the PA9 does better is it has more commonly available parts and magazines. |

I have an AK-V (see posts here) and I LOVE it. It's just a blast to shoot and it looks sexy as hell.
I have a friend with the PX-9 (I think- 9mm AR pistol that take Glock mags). As an AR guy I find it easier to use- I always know where the safety is, the magazine release, etc. If I had to get one, I'd get the 9mm AR. That being said I am not getting rid of the AK-V- it's just a fun gun to shoot, been reliable and accurate. With the AK-V the bolt release is the most familiar to me, as a long time FAL guy! |

what optic is on the AR-V?
Quoted: I think the AK-V looks better, but the AR-V is more practical for someone who normally shoots an AR. Essentially the same ergonomics and much better options for mounting optics. I've got 9mm ARs that take Colt mags, Glock mags, and the AR-V. The AR-V has become my go to for a PCC. View Quote |

I see you releasing AKVs every day, but none without braces. When will you release some without braces? Specifically looking for this one: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ak-v-9mm-railed-moe-alg-picatinny-pistol-black.html |

Is there a particular time these tend to be put up on the site? I've been trying to snag a red wood one (one with no brace is ideal, but one with the triangle one would be fine) but seem to be having terrible luck. Only once in the past few weeks has there been an AK-V in stock when I went on, and it wasn't the version I was after. Vice President Biden really wants me to buy one, since he gave me a whole bunch of my grandkid's money.

I was on the PSA site this afternoon. About 3:45 I refreshed the page and an AK-V popped up in stock. Of course I clicked add to cart the moment I saw it, but wouldn't you know it someone else was a hair quicker and I got a message the product I was trying to add was out of stock.
There are still AR-Vs on the site, which are very tempting, but I really want an AK-V. Back to the hunt I go.... |

Just keep trying because I was finally able to snag one yesterday afternoon, an OD green Magpul version. Thankfully all my CC info was pre-populated from the prior day order, so all that went quickly. I had some technical issues as well, but mine were with the submit order button not working correctly in Firefox, but it finally went through after three attempts. I'm not sure if that was on the part of the browser or the fact there were probably 50 other people typing and clicking like maniacs trying to place an order at the same time. I still couldn't believe I actually got one even after the order confirmation email. I had to double check my orders first thing this morning to make sure it had really happened :) I ended up cancelling the order for the 10.5 AR-V as a result of getting the AK-V. Customer service was swamped last night and I was on hold for over an hour, but I was so pumped from actually getting an order in that I could have been on hold for twice as long and still not cared one bit. The customer service rep sounded like she'd had a long day, but was still helpful and easy to work with so I made a point to tell her I knew she was very busy and to thank her for helping me with the AR-V order cancellation. I think I will probably order the AR-V builders kit in the not too distant future as I really want to put a 7.5" barrel version together. Good luck and keep at it, you'll get one eventually. |

Got mine today. The quality is very high and it feels great in the hands. I love it and can't wait to shoot it.
ETA: If anyone wants an easy way to add front and rear QD sling points without permanently altering anything, these work great. Loop one around the front sling slot and slip one onto the brace (detach the brace then slip it on, and it'll stay pretty much where you want it). The one I put in the back still holds the gun just fine with the brace folded, without causing it to try to open, and doesn't interfere with opening/closing it while slung. http://palmettostatearmory.com/blue-force-gear-2-75-molded-universal-wire-loop-nylon-coated-black-uwl-pb-p-275-bk.html If PSA doesn't have them in stock they are easy to find for under $20 all over. |

Josiah,
Does PSA have any plans of selling the AR-V uppers alone? Seems the AR-Vs are not selling as well as the AK-Vs. I've got an 8" ARV, but I'd buy another 4" upper to go along with it if you guys sold it that way. |

What range is the AK-V zeroed for? Mine was accurate but it hit only if I aimed with the target between the wings of the front sight hood, well above the front sight post itself, at about 15-20 yards.
