Attached FileHard to see it in this pic, but the hole in the gas block for the gas tube is plugged with a q-tip to prevent paint from entering and I confirmed before I re-assembled that there was no paint in the hole, so I'm confident that the gas block is clean and located properly to align the set screws with the dimples in the barrel. also, with the barrel off the receiver and the gas block/tube installed, I inserted an empty case into the chamber and then blew air into the muzzle to confirm that I'm getting flow through the tube. Not a super scientific test, but if the gas port or gas block were clogged, I think that would show it?
Also in case I didn't mention it prior, there are times when I'm cycling rounds by hand that the extractor will let go of cases and drop them on top of the magazine. I'm honestly not sure if this is an extractor issue, a gas issue, or a chamber issue.
ETA: I used electrical tape on the muzzle, barrel nut/extension and gas block because it makes for nice clean lines. It's hard to tell in the pic because it's been painted over, but there is electrical tape completely covering the muzzle/flash-hider, the barrel nut and barrel extension, and the gas block
