I'm going down the rabbit hole here, but the bug has bit me.
Does anyone know who made the raw forgings for the original early A2 lowers by Colt? They had the smooth tapered look on the back reinforcement collar, pics attached. No longer manufactured, never made into 80%'s because they stopped being produced before the 80% lower phenomenon. I've never seen a source on what aluminum forge made them.
There's a good thread on lower variations in the A2 subforum but I figured maybe the Industry forum has some inside knowledge.
And if I can hope against hope, any way to get these as 0% raw forgings? They're for sale as used complete lowers in a lot of places, but these already have engravings and rollmarks and as such aren't perfect for cloning purposes.
