Other than that, I can't think of what else to suggest. Honestly, and I know I'm beating a dead horse, but given the distances you frequent and the conditions, get a Vortex 85mm Viper HD with the MRAD reticle and pocket the $2K you just saved. But I understand your reality, so my vote is STR. |

Shooting in my backyard, I could get by with a Barska. So you have a good point about the Viper. Actually sold 1 of those a couple years ago, when I got the STS-80. But the range I'm a member of has 600 yards, where I could make use of the better glass. I just need to get my ass out there. |

@mi650
Was the bottom left target the first group of the day? Upper left target #2? The POI shift from that target to the others would have me checking to ensure nothing was loose if it was my rifle. |

Whoa, danger close to falling off page one! 6.5 to the rescue
Moved 2.3’s target back to the 100 yard line and the results were pretty epic, 3/3. Also shoe goo appears to keep the gumball together way better than wood glue which seemed to turn them to mush. Attached File Attached File Gumballs apparently do okay at grabbing onto high speed projectiles under the right circumstances. Very interesting. Attached File |

I’m giving Leupold another shot. I acquired a Mark5HD 5-25 with a H-59. I have been assured that the 5-25’s are sorted out and function 100%. Got it mounted up but it’s 110 degrees here today. I may hit the range after my haircut this afternoon.

Double checked to make sure everything was tight, then, ETA: didn't bother measuring everything. After, I shot a group of 136s and 140s. |

It was windy here today and pretty hot as well. I made it out to the range to at least zero my new Mark 5.
I just can’t sleep good with an in zero’d rifle in the house. Everything worked good and actually got a few good groups in with my Berger 130 handload. The new scope is extremely clear and bright. Turrets are great and easy to set zero with. Attached File Attached File Best and worst group today. I shot some of my TMK 130 loads as well. I lowered the powder charge to 46.6 because I experienced pressure signs in extreme heat last summer. That’s 4831sc powder. Shooting the Berger’s at the same charge. +/- 2850 FPS. |

Just a thought, but it isn't the ammo. That first picture with the vertical grouping tends to indicate breathing, but you wouldn't get that much dispersion at 100y.
