Nice looking blaster! Glad you're enjoying the laser and thank you for the business.
Edit, what Can is that? |

Looks good to us, the lenses are always a bit angled due to the close distance to the diode. The dot should be crisp as well.

i got my unit in recently. its nice, well built. i hope it will work out great for my needs, but i have a question....
in the manual it says the dot is .5" at 50 feet. does it matter what power level it is set to? meaning, with the lower power setting, will the dot be smaller at 50 feet or just less intense? i hope my question is making sense. |

That's what I figured, but I had to ask just to make sure. I'll take some vids and pics if I can ever get out and shoot some time. |

Received my unit a couple days ago. Very happy with it so far. Seems solid. I'm not familiar with this particular battery type, or how easy it will be to find a replacement. Using a Syonix Aurora to capture the below images, the tree line is about 75 yards. Low power dot was barely visible, high power was extremely visible. I don't have a picture handy, but indoors, at close range, on all power settings there was star artifact. I assume thats the fault of the Aurora.

Quoted: TNVC is proud to once again partner with Steiner eOptics to bring an highly anticipated, affordable, feature rich, next generation Class 1 IR laser aiming module (LAM) to the market! The Steiner/TNVC TOR-MINI IR VPC (Variable Power Control) is manufactured by Steiner eOptics, and sold exclusively through TNVC. Once considered niche products with little use outside of military and law enforcement, night vision and thermal technologies are now embraced by the hunting and civilian enthusiast communities. Many users have come to realize that under certain circumstances, Class 0.7mW IR cause excessive blooming and laser splash at close ranges and with small game, degrading accuracy and precision and obscuring targets. While most LAMs on the market rely on neutral density filters and/or active supplementary IR illumination to mitigate blooming effects, the Steiner/TNVC TOR-MINI IR VPC features a variable power aiming laser that can be switched between 0.2mW, 0.4mW, and 0.7mW by holding down the onboard “FIRE” button, providing an easy-to-use human interface to switch between output levels to match any target size or environmental conditions. The TOR-MINI IR VPC gives the user total control to adjust IR aiming laser output on the fly to place precision fires on targets large and small, from bad breath distance to over 270 yards, whatever the lighting conditions. As its name implies, the Steiner/TNVC TOR-MINI IR VPC is small and lightweight, weighing in at only 1.6 ounces, yet built to last with a Type III Hardcoat Anodized, machined aerospace aluminum housing. The TOR-MINI IR VPC is also dust and splash-proof to IP54 standards, and features an adjustable Picatinny rail interface to fit a wide range of pistol and long-gun rails. The TOR-MINI IR VPC’s small mounting footprint makes it ideal for mounting on pistols and short-barreled rifles with limited rail space, and is equally at home on a .22lr varmint pistol to a large frame hog hunting rifle, or even mounted to a thermal weapon sight to allow spotters to detect game and point out targets to hunting partners using night vision devices. The TOR-MINI IR VPC is not only small, lightweight, durable, and capable, but also extremely affordable, proving that not everything to do with night vision needs to be expensive. The TOR-MINI IR VPC is manufactured in the USA and backed by Steiner eOptics’ 3 Year Warranty, and is one of the best values for such a versatile product on the night vision market! This Item is ITAR controlled and cannot be shipped or carried outside the United States without express written permission from the United States Department of State. We do not export outside the United States. PERIOD! https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19096/Tor-Mini-1-1390672.jpg https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/468022/68E8E7F3-8FBF-415F-9999-1BB0E3CA2A48-1294564.jpg As we mentioned, the best feature of this unit has that no other C1 system does is variable power to rid the dreaded bloom based on your environmental conditions. Some examples below. Using IR illumination? No problem switch to .7mW with no IR dot wash out from the IR Lum. Not using any IR Lum and your target dot is washing out a portion of the target? No problem, switch to .2mW or .4mW to clearly see your target! Pics below taken with a TNV-14 L3 Thin Filmed. Of course pics do not come close to what you the user will see with the quality of real life image. .2mW https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19096/TOR-MINI-0PT2MW-1390668.jpg .4mW https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19096/TOR-MINI-0PT4MW-1390669.jpg .7mW https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/19096/TOR-MINI-0PT7MW-1390670.jpg We are now in full rate production, units $269.00. Would you consider it to be rain proof. I looked up the specs but it’s not really clear if siginificant rain would ruin it. |

embarrassing question because I am new to night vision: Is the laser dot visible under both green phospor and white phospor NV tubes?

Quoted: So, got mine in a few days ago, finally got around to putting in on my 300blk Honey Badger. For those who are on the fence, thinking about putting this on a rifle as a cheaper alternative for a laser, DO IT. Looking around my neighborhood last night, this 'pistol' laser goes beyond 100-150y in distance. It may go further, but that is as far as I can see from my back porch. I have it mounted on the 6oclock position and plan on having it zero'd for 4 in below at 50y on my HB, which is a 150y gun at max. So, if you are on the fence, buy!https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/135833/B7D68A9A-FAB9-4AB5-B59C-F1227B6ACCF0-1429299.jpg https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/135833/EAF2488E-EEBA-4ED3-81D7-DAE1B53B7DB2-1429300.jpg View Quote |

Do you think these would hold up to the recoil of a 12 gauge shotgun?
@TNVC |

Is it ok to mount on top rail as shown in photo in original post? (Sight upside down)
Just got mine and instructions say mount with Weaver mount on sight up. Assume this is just to keep confusion about elevation adjustment instructions to a minimum? |

I've had mine for about a month now. It locks up solid, is small enough to put on a pistol but flipped over it sits high enough to be easily reached. I have a Vortex Huey g2 and its in the vision window but low enough to not interfere. I haven't had any issues with blooming indoors, and it seems to be powerful enough to go as far as I've needed.
I'm pretty impressed with the little thing for the money. One thing I either skipped over or missed, how long is the battery life @tnvc_augee ? The auto-shutoff is nice considering there isn't any way to know its on...but it's a battery I didn't have before so wanted to make sure I had enough around. Quoted: @TNVC Whata the battery life on this? View Quote Hey Matt, since there are 3 settings at .7mW, .4mW and .2mW it's tough to get exact battery duration's. Our testing at the highest setting at .7mW gave us approx. 6 hours at constant on. Of course users mileage may vary. Hope this helps and thank you for the interests. |
