The new Python has a better double action trigger then the originals, but not as good a single action.
Much of that is because the gun has to pass the silly California drop test.
If you notice, in single action when the trigger is pulled the hammer cams backward slightly, which makes it heavier.
Another problem is that with the ammo shortage, some people are shooting cheesy foreign and steel cased ammo in new Pythons and getting some miss-fires.
So, Colt had to increase the weight of the mainspring slightly to insure good ignition on questionable ammo.
The best option is to send it to Heffron Precision. They do a trigger job that makes the new Python have a BETTER trigger then the original Pythons in DA and SA.
