I was thinking that's a decent tripod at great price until I saw the shooting rest is separate and cost as much as the tripod.

It IS a decent tripod at a great price! Carbon Fiber tripods aren't cheap. We sell the rest's for MAP (minimum advertised price). We legally can't sell them any cheaper. We're working on some cheaper mounting options at the present. The tripod however is STILL a great price.

I called with this question but got a message you are closed for the holidays. I am ready to place an order. I think I want the tripod and saddle mentioned in this thread. I am also aware that QD options exist for mounting a rifle to a tripod and want to order that at the same time, but I am not sure of what I need. Can you point me in the right direction?

I ordered one. I've been looking at heavier tripods to handle my 20+lb srs with can, clip on, etc and I may still buy one but there is definitely room for a light one like this. Spec wise it's identical to the Desmond dcf-428 unless I missed something but those go for $170 for the tripod alone with no head so this one seems like a great deal. Should still be a good upgrade over my aluminum manfrotto 055.
The ballhead accepts Arca type plates. For qd options you can buy a Cretac, RRS etc arca adapter that will mount to your picatiny rail. You can buy an Arca plate alone and figure out a way to attach it to your gun(I ordered a 170mm plate and Lmt has 1/4-20 threaded holes in their MRP/MWS uppers so I'm going to give it a try.) Or you can buy a B&T adapter that you can attach to the ballhead and it has an adm qd picatiny mount on top so you can clamp your gun in by the rail when you need to(have one of these ordered as well.) Then there are the reaper grip, hog saddle, pig saddle. Have a hog saddle but there is some movement with it. |

ARFCOM...Time well wasted.

Just ordered one.
Not real familiar with tripods yet but I imagine I can get a head to slap a camera on it too for just photography? |

If you're hoping to receive your tripod quickly, don't get too excited.

Where can I find a close up of the ball head's mounting interface? Just wondering if it's the typical Manfrotto RC2 system which Magpul has an adapter plate that matches it.

Got mine today from a 1/2 order.
The legs aren't fluted externally but they don't rotate. Center column has an anti rotation groove visible. Legs drop down freely when you loosen the twist lock so that's good for quicker deployment. My larger leofoto does not. Ball head could be smoother but for the price it's hard to complain. I'm 6'3" and on flat ground it's about right for me shooting standing without needing to put the center column up. It's as stable or slightly better than my alluminum manfrotto 055xb with legs fully extended but it's much lighter and more compact folded. Seems about perfect for its intended purpose of a light packable, hunting tripod. Fully confident that it will work well with small frame ar's grendel's, SPC, blk, etc. Will have to see how well it will handle with a 308 or larger. |

Thanks for the review.
We've shot 20 rounds through the .338 Lapua Magnum off the Night Stalker without an issue. We would've shot more but at $5 a round, we figured $100 worth of ammo was a good stopping point! |

Order is in.
I have handled one of these tripods and its nice, priced decent too I think. Went ahead and grabbed a PIG saddle too, it will see alot of various action. Thx bros. |

Not sure, looks similar but our Night Stalkers are made to our specifications and are $40 cheaper...

Are these in stock now or still 4-6 weeks out?

That lead time has actually increased to 8 weeks unfortunately. We are dealing with some long delays from the manufacturer at this point. Our sincerest apologies!

I ordered mine in the middle of February.
I received my Night Stalker tripod and Reaper grip yesterday. I used it today. It is worth the wait. Very nice with a lot of cool features. Hang in there, I'm sure it is on it's way. |

I received mine today and I am very pleased with it so far. Everything moves smooth but it locks up solid.

Received an email recently from a hunter who had the opportunity to use our Night Stalker on a recent hunt. Here's what he had to say.
"Three weeks ago I had a chance to use one of your platforms (tripod) and actually compare it side-by-side to a very similar offering while hosting a demo thermal pig hunt on the ranch. Companies we do business with and call friends such as Lantac USA and DSG Arms were also in attendance and they also used a variety of shooting platforms. After nine hours of hunting which included walking /carrying your unit for five miles I can easily say the Night Stalker was the favorite, in addition, I learned it was at half the price of the other units...T. Wiley" He ordered one for himself yesterday afternoon. |
