So, I was seriously considering the XM177 retro but couldn't justify the expense. Decided, hey that SOCOM is different I don't need another AR, I'll buy it.
Great, after watching batches of 5 & 10 rifles sell out pretty quick on different sites I pulled the trigger at "CF" and from the last entry of the CC number to my FFL calling me was almost exactly 24 hours.
I was impressed, but I receive it and it doesn't have the forward grip or short rail cover.
I give Colt a call and have the parts in a couple 3 days. I hadn't really looked the rifle over until I go to install the grip and rail.
I find what looks like someone clamped something on the upper receiver rail and gouged it. I'm thinking that the damage is slight but still it's a new rifle and should be free from damage, especially a premium product.
Give Colt another call, they say sure, send it in and will look and see what can be done. Issue me an RMA shipping label, I box it up and take it over to Fed Ex.
That's the last time it was tracked, since then it's MIA. Claim started with FedEx, Colt's got the managers involved.
This was the damage.
