Our long tower 50-round GLOCK drum mag
Our PMAG D-50 GL9 is a highly reliable, 9x19mm Parabellum, 50-round drum magazine optimized for double-stack 9mm GLOCK handguns. It boasts many of the proven features of our other 9mm drums, providing 50-round capacity in a unique drum configuration that keeps the height of the magazine manageable, allowing for easier storage. We recommended installing a new OEM magazine release on Gen 1-3 GLOCK handguns to support the extra weight of the magazine, and Gen 4 GLOCK handguns will require an aftermarket metal magazine release. Features 50-round capacity, next-generation impact and crush-resistant polymer construction, and robust stainless internals withstand corrosion and long-term storage while loaded with no loss of function. Ratcheting lever for ease of loading, easy disassembly for cleaning and maintenance, and high-visibility follower and rounds-remaining window. Use of the D-50 GL9 in PCCs is not recommended, because the increased length of the feed tower will be partially unsupported in most PCC mag wells. Installation of a new recoil spring assembly to ensure reliable feeding is strongly recommended and Individual variations between firearms may result in an extra power recoil spring being required. Our 50-round MP5® drum mag Our second drum offering this year is the PMAG D-50 MP. It’s another highly reliable, 9x19mm Parabellum, 50-round drum magazine for HK94/MP5 large-format pistols and pistol caliber carbines. It has many of the proven features of our other 9mm drums, providing 50-round capacity in a unique drum configuration that keeps the height of the magazine manageable and allows for easier storage. Features Ratcheting lever for ease of loading. Easy disassembly for cleaning and maintenance High-visibility follower and rounds-remaining window. |

The obvious question is "when?"... but I also see that there is a PCC version of the D50 GL-9... how short is the feed tower compared to the standard version? Or maybe compared to the other glock mags (like the 10 or 15 rd)?

Magpul, do you have a rough ETA of when these will hit the shelves?

Use of this D-50 GL9 in pistol caliber carbines (PCC) is not recommended, because the increased length of the feed tower will be partially unsupported in most pistol caliber magazine wells. This unsupported condition may cause premature wear on the feed tower magazine catch, and (in firearms which deviate from factory magazine well specifications) may result in improper round presentation and failures to feed.” |

So I'm curious now, since the feed lips and the 'tower' of the Drum mag for the MP5 is already designed.....can we expect to see stick mags for the MP5 too? Seems like the hard part is done.

At this juncture the mag(s) are obviously just BS.

Just wish release dates wouldn't be given out if there is no intention of meeting them. I don't care if it's another 5 years, but at least be honest about it. It's not just the firearm industry either. I expect people to be honest. |

So if you have an AR using a Stern Defense adapter and upper which 50 rounder do you buy the pcc or pistol?
|
|
I am not an operator nor am I very smart.
Keep that in mind when reading my comments:-) |

I have a stern adapter and can check it. ETA- PCC model will not work with stern adapter. Need the pistol model. |

The PCC model will not work on a B&T APC9 Pro with the Glock mag lower. Feed tower is too short. And it won't work on my 19 for the same reason. Not a happy camper.

View Quote This is correct, will also not fit in my APC9 and 9K. I sent Magpul a message and there reply was to use the GL9 instead. Which hangs way to low for me. Very poor planning on the PCC Glock drums. |

View Quote Yep! I can confirm that Magpul GL9 pcc drums fits the Ruger charger 9mm and the PSA billet 9mm AR9 pistol lower. It does not fit the B&T glock 9mm lower on a GHM9. Nuts! |

View Quote Whille I can admit the the geometry of the B&T magwell is odd, it seems like it is popular enough to have been considered... I can run a 26 mag in the APC, a few more mm, maybe 5 or 6, seems like it wouldn't have been too hard to manage in the design... |

The PCC model with not really work with a QC10 9mm lower.
If I have the bolt locked back and smack it VERY hard, it seats. But then it won't release with the mag release button without smashing it hard. The the bolt closed, it won't seat at all. The manual states to call customer service.... Anyone have an idea what the fix is? |

Anyone have an idea what the fix is? View Quote I emailed Magpul about the problem and there answer was they knew of the problem and I should buy the Glock pistol drum as the feed tower is longer. I did get one of my PCC drums to fit the B&T 9 and 9K. I rotated the face plate 180 degrees and used my dremel to take off some material. It looks like s**t but it locks in and function’s. |
|
|
I have zero issues with my QC10 9mm. Now mine is 100% QC10. It does have to be inserted on an open bolt like the manual says.
