I would have to think that at this point, no matter the stock of sights they still have, that tooling has long since paid for itself. Probably more value in the nuts and bolts than in the plastic. And yes it seems they have introduced a great many new products the last three years or so but they are mostly firearm specific whereas back up sights made for anything with a rail and are therefore more universal in use. That TFB video with James Reeves and Jon Canipe is over a year old. It was uploaded to YouTube on January 15 2021. Nearly a year and a half ago at this point. And since then it’s basically been radio silence on the MBUS 3’s. They weren’t so much as mentioned in a single Shot Show 2022 video that I was able to find. |

I've said it before, but I get the feeling that Magpul has had to go back to the drawing board on these new sights... Maybe a few times now by this point. I bet they aren't holding up well in their testing.
This is why the Gen 2 MBUS sights are as bulky as they are. |

I have given up waiting for these.
Got other sights, and I've removed these from my "wish list" on several sites. |

Yeah at this point something must be horribly wrong. To not have a peep about them at SHOT. No definitive ETA for release. Skipping spring and summer for release when everyone is out shooting. My bet is we don’t see these this year and they know it but for some reason won’t let anyone know.

Was coming here to post something similar. What a joke. Summer 2022 ends on September 22. That’s 38 days from today. 29 business days. Less than 6 weeks.
Anyone here think MAGPUL will have literally anything, even the tiniest mention, of these sights between now and then? Nah. More t shirts!!! |

I have a feeling that Magpul is monitoring this thread and every time someone like me comes by and trolls them regarding these sites they push the release date back another three months. These are probably actually all manufactured and ready to ship, but because they are making so much money off PMags, stocks, and their other products they can afford to just sit and have the last laugh every time a dumbass like me trolls them.

SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER, MAGPUL!!!
Seriously, I don't get the hold up. I'm not aware of any other product that Magpul announced and then took so long to actually get out. They are one of the companies out there that just always seems to have their shit together. If it's not ready for prime time, don't announce it. If you announce it, get it out to the market in a reasonable amount of time. If there is some issue, just communicate that to your customers. That good will goes a long way in staving off people saying "fuck it" and going with someone else's product. I am in a position where I want to buy a few sets of these but don't NEED them. I will NOT be buying the Gen 2 sights now that I know about these, and there's probably a lot of people out there in my same boat so if Magpul is doing this intentionally to try to sell off Gen 2's, all that is doing is pissing off a lot of customers. |

I just think they are probably too fragile and they can't make it happen. They shouldn't have said anything about them until they knew how they would stand up to actual use. |

Because of this, I've decided to move away from Magpul products in general. I was planning on buying some of these sights for some builds, but those are long since complete, and I went with other sights for them.
But because of the silence from Magpul, it's really left me with a poor opinion of them, and as I have no other means to provide feedback, I'll just take my money to other manufacturers. Delays are understandable, but completely ignoring requests for a simple update is not ok. |

Two weeks and two days to go.
12 business days. It ain’t happening gents. Like the poster above said. A little communication would go a loooong way and there hasn’t been any since the initial announcement. Heck this year at Shot Show they had these sights on multiple firearms in their booth. I never found any youtube videos where any reps even mentioned them. And nobody seemed to care to ask. I don’t see these making it out this year. |

I can forgive a lot from a company that's put out such good products, but the radio silence on this is infuriating. Back in the day, it looked like all my rifles had been dragged through the Magpul catalog. Nowadays, not so much. I've switched out a number of Magpul grips for Strike Industries' overmolded ones and although that company does make some kinda weird stuff, I think they are pretty innovative. They actually have a good looking set of polymer tool-less flip up sights coming out soon. I suspect that with them, "soon" means SOON. We'll see I guess. I honestly don't know what Magpul is afraid of. There's nothing they could tell us about the status of these sights, TO INCLUDE SAYING THAT THEY ARE NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO BRING THEM TO MARKET AT ALL, which is worse than totally ignoring their (increasingly less) loyal customers. |

It's obvious they are more interested in being a hipster / lifestyle brand.
Their company their rules, so I just spend money with companies that want my business. Don't worry about those MBUS 3's @magpul, I bought another brand so you can focus on weed satchels and flip flops. |

The MBUS 3 sights presented some engineering challenges. We wanted sights that were smaller than MBUS, with more features, and the same or better drop performance. We announced based on initial forecast timelines, but we had some changes along the way, as well as some supply chain challenges while we were trying different things out. We have ended up using a new polymer formulation for certain parts, and there were a lot of testing and revision cycles to make sure we met our desired requirements. It has been an embarrassingly long time, but we are finally building. Planned release is before the end of October. They are everything we wanted. Will also see some other things shipping in October and Nov.
As far as not being a firearms accessory company, we still put out more, and more ambitious firearms products than anyone else. I can assure you that the Daka pouch and novelty sock people are not the same people as the stock people. We are hiring on both sides, currently, to increase bandwidth on everything. We will, however, partly because of the MBUS 3 delay fiasco, be moving to more of a cycle where we announce products when they are ready to ship rather than announce at SHOT and then announce shipping during the year. We do have some very, very cool things coming at SHOT show, though, and a ton of things in the works--there are over 50 active firearms programs, currently. Given the way social media and content production are currently working, we feel less of an imperative to announce products at SHOT if they are not ready to ship, so expect releases throughout the year from here on out. |

We're still tracking for release before the end of the month...probably see some official communications on the shipping release next week. |
