I always thought the stealth tubeless concept was a really pretty can that when new looked kind of like magic - like how do they do that, but in the current market we can have visible welds, and the visible welds don't require any material removal so they are stronger per unit of weight- but this generation of cans is lighter than the old, so they are probably similarly strong or stronger, albeit lighter. I think it wasn't received as "magic" to the customers though, as I got to see sales triple or better when we implemented the tube cuts that assist cooling, but also change the stylistic appearance of the can.
The first generation serials to 100 of the M4SDII had 718 inconel baffles and 316 tubing and spacers and used 718 inconel filler rod plug welds extensively, and then were turned to provide the same clean appearance. It was a high performance can for the time. I saw one this year- a 13 year old can that is still in service. I have a few former Marsoc friends that have 12-14K rounds on those cans at this point (their personal cans).
The newer generation cans (probably something like generation 8 and 9) are getting higher and higher performance, in that they achieve muzzle numbers like or better than the originals with ear numbers 6-10DB lower.
