Hey Guys,
If this is not the correct place to post this please let me know.
I have a Larue UU complete rifle I purchased used in 7.62x51. When I purchased the rifle it had a Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock with rifle extension/buffer/spring. I never fired the rifle with this setup so am not sure if it was reliable in this config.
At the direction of some folks on this forum I replaced the receiver extension with a Vltor A5, replaced the PRS with a Larue RAT stock, replaced the rifle spring (red) with a Tubb's SR-25/AR-10 Flat Buffer Spring (standard and carbine), and replaced the rifle buffer with an standard (non A5) H3 buffer (AR15 carbine length).
This setup was smooth and resulted in very little recoil. However, it also resulted in occasional failures to strip rounds from the magazine (multiple mags tried) into the chamber. This got progressively worse as the rifle got dirty (~50 rounds) until it just wouldn't feed from the mag at all.
I switched the buffer from an H3 to an H2 and this just made matter worse. Many more failure to strip rounds off of multiple mags. I'm thinking maybe the spring is not strong enough or maybe I need an even heavier buffer?
Where do I go from here? Do I need a different receiver extension, spring or buffer? As this is going to be my Battle Rifle it needs to be 100% reliable. Thanks in advance.
ETA:
I am running this rifle both suppressed and unsuppressed. Have feed issues running with both.
Bolt locks back on an empty mag.
Brass is thrown forward at about 2:00 with the H2 buffer. At about 3:00 with the H3 buffer.
I have run about 200 rounds through this gun since I bought it.
