IR Hunter/IR Patrol USB Power Source Adapter Kit GET YOURS HERE The UNV - USB Battery adapter for the IR Hunter and IR Patrol is a high quality and hassle-free solution for powering your IR Patrol or IR Hunter thermal devices. The adapter will convert your power source to a more stable and efficient USB power bank. Not only is the USB power bank more efficient than CR123 batteries, it can also power your IR Patrol or IR Hunter for 8-24 hours depending on the battery you choose and your chosen frame rate. The adapter is an American made machined aluminum drop-in style replacement that requires no tools for installation. It's no secret that thermal devices are power hungry and that the quality CR123A batteries required to operate the IR Hunter and IR Patrol are expensive and wasteful. The battery life using 1, 2, or 3, CR123A batteries in the IR Hunter or IR Patrol varies from 1.5 to 5 hours of continuous use - not nearly long enough to hunt all night without changing batteries. As battery technology progresses there are a multitude of reasons to use rechargeable 5 volt USB power banks. Quality USB power banks increase battery life over CR123A batteris, USB power banks reduce cost because they are rechargeable, and they make in-field battery replacement hassle-free. Included: UNV/USB Adapter Adapter Power Cable USB Battery USB Battery Charging Cable Custom Battery Pouch Optional: Extended length Power Cable Additional USB Batteries No Tools - No modifications - Drop-In Design The IR Patrol/IR Hunter USB power adapter threads on to your IR Hunter or IR Patrol battery compartment just like your stock battery cap, and has been designed with the same materials and workmanship as your stock battery cap. The adapter allows you to easily connect your IR Hunter or IR Patrol to a USB power source using the provided USB power cable. Each kit is supplied with a drop-in CR123A spacer cell. The provided drop-in spacer cell is necessary when the adapter is used with the IR Hunter or the IR Patrol in 2-battery configuration. The spacer cell is not needed when using the adapter with the IR Patrol in 1 battery configuration. There are no tools or modifications needed to use the adapter with your IR Hunter or IR Patrol, and if you ever want to use CR123A batteries again simply unscrew the adapter and use your device as normal. About the Battery - Safe and Efficient The premium cell USB power bank included in the adapter kit has many built-in features to ensure that power is delivered safely and efficiently. In fact, the rechargeable USB battery used in the adapter kit has output current stabilization, output voltage surge protection, auto shutoff/sleep mode(when not connected to device), battery cell protection, short circuit prevention, low voltage protection, and a battery charge percentage indicator to let you know how much battery life you have left. Light Weight and Cost Effective There is no reason to waste money on expensive disposable batteries, and with the IR Patrol/IR Hunter USB Power Adapter kit you can eliminate the recurring cost of disposable CR123A batteries. All USB battery configurations offered with the IR Patrol/IR Hunter adapter are outfitted with high-density Panasonic 18650 cells which offer 10% more efficency above other 18650 cells. These efficent batteries put more power in the same slim design of smaller competing batteries. Complete Safety The battery uses premium LG cells, together with the most advanced materials and cutting-edge technology, to ensure complete safety. Battery Safety Features
Guaranteed Reliability With a World Famous Warranty We sought out the best rechargeable battery for powering an expensive thermal optic. We needed the battery to be safe, efficient, and required a great warranty for our customers. That's how we arrived at the Anker line of batteries. At Anker, they believe in their products, and so do we. That's why Anker backs all of their products with an 18-month warranty and provide reliable, friendly, easy-to-reach support, and we proudly offer their batteries with our IR Patrol/IR Hunter USB power adapter. Detects your device. Not all USB ports are created equal. Standard ports only charge some devices at full speed and others often really slowly. But with Anker's technology, each port intelligently identifies your device to deliver its most efficient power level. Fully Warrantied System - We back our product and your expensive scope. We not only warranty the adapter itself, we are so confident in the quality and safety of our adapter and Anker's battery system that we will also warranty your IR Hunter or IR Patrol if for any reason your unit is damaged by the power supply during recommended use. IMPORTANT NOTE: This product does not affect your IR Hunter or IR Patrol manufacturers warranty. For legal reasons IR Defense has issued the following public statement: "Officially IR Defense only recommends using standard CR123 type batteries. Using rechargeable batteries of any kind is not recommended because improper use can result in damage, explosion and personal injury." Solar Charging Capabilities Tired of buying expensive batteries for your thermal optics? We have the perfect solution! For the cost of less than 50 CR123A batteries, our adapter system can be paired with an Anker Solar Charger. You will never have to buy batteries again. Not only that, but a solar charger will allow you to charge your USB battery bank in the most remote locations where you may not have access to a wall or automotive power source. |

Tyler:
Any chance you can post a picture showing how you've mounted the battery pack to your rifle? I may be looking at the picture wrong, but it seems the included cable is not long enough to make it to the buttstock. Using the standard USB 2/3 ports as the source, how long does it take to charge this battery pack? Is that battery pack rated for 308? Most of the time we use 6.8SPC or 300 blk, but periodically we bring the 308's out if we think we'll be taking longer shots. I'm assuming 6.8SPC and 300blk won't be an issue... I may have missed it on your site, but do you sell the 9000 mAh USB Battery as a separate item? Depending on charge time, we may order spare battery packs since sometimes we have limited time access to charge ports. |

We have found this style of adapter actually increases recoil resistance so you should have no problems as all. There is a small amount of light emitted from the LED battery indicator on the USB batteries. If you do not want your USB battery to emit any visible light simply flip the battery over in the pouch(there is a semi-rigid insert in the pouch wall that will block all light), or cover the indicator with tape. |

View Quote We have decided that a longer cable with a right angle USB will be offered for rifle mounting your USB battery pack and using it with the MK II or IR Patrol USB external power adapter. We also have right angle USB extension cables we can add to the adapter kits for under $10. Here are some pics to show you how I have mine mounted: |

We are now including a right angle USB extension cable with the adapter kit. This allows you to use the IR Patrol on a helmet with the standard 16 inch USB power cable, or use the 8 inch extender when weapon mounting the IR Patrol.
We also have a 19 inch right angle USB power cable available if you are going to be strictly weapon mounting the IR Patrol or are using an IR Hunter |
