So I got my first UU kit this week and mated it to the LT lower I also purchased. I had the upper assembled by LT and did the typical LPK install on the lower. For reference, I received a .300BLK 12". As I was putting it together, I noticed the upper did not have the caliber marked on it which I thought strange. Why wouldn't they mark the upper with the proper caliber? Am I to take it on blind faith that they didn't put a .223/5.56 barrel on there by mistake? Based on some of the experiences I've had with them recently, I wouldn't put it past them to switch a few customers uppers before shipping. Seems like a bit of a liability issue to me.
Now *I* know that it is .300blk (I hope, will find out in a few hours!) but others down the line might see it and be like 'hey look, an AR! Let me throw a clip of 5.56 in there and do a mag dump!'
I'm thinking of having my laser engraver put the caliber on it for me.
Am I crazy with this line of thinking?
