The two barrels that Brownells have is are both Colt; the M4A1 is the regular 14.5” government profile barrel. The M4 SOCOM is the heavier profile barrel with M203 flats. The M4 SOCOM is one of the finest production barrels made today. It is very accurate and my favorite barrels bar none. Molón did on these barrels and they beat a lot of higher end barrels for accuracy.

Yeah, I read Molon's post. When I looked at them on Brownell's website
I got confused. I "thought" I knew the difference. Just not well enough it seems.
I did buy the M4 SOCOM barrel for my SOCOM build.

Since I have the parts (except barrel) I may get another one.
But, I wanted a 11.5" too. I only have one spare (Colt) M4 lower
and one spare Colt upper left after I do the SOCOM build.
I wanted to have a selection of different Colt's (different lengths that is) to pick up outside of the others (homogeneous builds) .
I don't have anything in 11.5".
My other problem is finding SF 3-prongs. None anywhere and no Aimpoint RDS's.
