Cool! I had one of the original used ones. I sold it because it wasn’t practical for me. It seemed very over engineered and a bit primitive with steel c clamps. It was very cool but also felt heavy, and kind of bulky. A cool feature is the buffer system. For what I paid back then I just couldn’t get comfortable with keeping it. I paid a lot more than $1299. However, at the lower price I will probably give it another shot. It is a cool design and from Colt. Arms Unlimited delivers again.
Looks like one is up for auction on AA’s GB page. GB Link |

Interesting that they're new production. I was wondering if they would be since the AU video said something about them being the sole distributor, but didn't want to get my hopes up.
I'd love to get one but $1300 is pretty steep. |

I can't wait to mat one up with a 6945 upper. The way the originals were.

LOL online inventory indicates 1090 units if true the price is a complete joke.
At 1090 units the part is not rare and does not warrant the inflated price. Huge ripoff IMO. On which side is the huge profit being made? Colt or AU. 25 for sale then maybe ok. 1090+ then LOL. |

I got 5 through a friend who is a dealer and will probably keep 2 and sell 3 for a bit less than AU. they looks pretty cool.

View Quote If your dealer got some and AU got a bunch then maybe Brownells being an authorized Colt part dealer will also get some at a fraction of the current price. Wait and see. Very foolish to pay asking now when there is a shitload of them. |

they got them through AU. From what I hear there is only a few hundred and it is exclusive through AU.

Quoted: they got them through AU. From what I hear there is only a few hundred and it is exclusive through AU. View Quote a few hundred as in 10+ hundred. AU inventory is usually very accurate and usually reflects what they actually have. Going to be hard to move 1.3 million dollars ($1,300,000) in over priced Colt stocks. AU likely has a fraction of that dollar amount invested and got them for a huge amount less. Otherwise the interest on the money would eat them alive. |

I think they are neat and good to see but they aren’t 100% colt like they say.
They used some colt parts to make them but they also remade some parts to make them compete. Colt supplied what parts they had but the ones that were originally released years ago are true colt made at colt. This will muddy the waters for sure with their adds claiming they are all colt on the second hand market down the road EDIT: I was corrected on this and was told the parts are made off the original specs (slightly altered to change machine time) are newly produced through colts supply chain and only sold via AU via colt. |

It's crazy how much hate there is for colt on a colt forum. These came from colt. I talked to AU. I ordered one and I'm glad I did. I don't feel ripped off. It's spendy for sure but for me it's going to be worth it. Aside from the people saying they are aren't all colt made and overpriced, can some give some experience using one? I'd like to hear about one being used in shooting. Thanks

No one said colt sucks or they are a bad stock. I have a few of them and they work great. Solid and work great |

best of luck with those if you purchase one. with that lightened buffer (and even with their special spring) carrier bounce is still a real possibility.
are the alphabet agencies the only ones who have used them or does our DOD issue them as well?? anyone know for sure??? |

If anyone has an original and a new one, can we get some comparisons?

LOL 1,028 units left in stock at AU.
They are moving like hotcakes. Actually I am shocked they moved 50+ at that price already. But that could be selling them at a lower price to other dealers for resale? |

Dumb question time. I run H3 buffers on my 10.3 and 11.5 guns that are shot exclusively with an RC2.
Will the buffer in this kit do ok suppressed? |
|
[#38]
AU is probably wishing they are moving more. Price drop on these: buy 2 for $1k each

IMHO (in my honest opinion). The stocks are currently over priced.
Now I would likely pay up to $600 for one, maybe more, depending on how money is burning a hole in my pocket. Update the thread when they are price dropped, are reasonably priced to market. Disclaimer: I like Colt's. |

Disclaimer: I like Colt's. I completely agree, I would also cringe paying $600 for one. All of this. The bolt carrier group, buffer, buffer tube, and action spring can’t be worth more than $350. Throw in a clunky rectangular piece of plastic with a couple hinges and add another $150. I get it that Colt must charge more for these because they are producing much lower numbers, but $1000? I suppose they will charge what people will pay, but you’d have to be a pretty huge Colt enthusiast with some serious spare funds laying around to pay $1000 for that. To each his own thought. It’s America. Disclaimer: I like Colt as well and own several. |
