Was the bolt mpc marked? Younwill probably literally need a magnifying glass.

Quoted: I'll bite. What are your complaints View Quote It was more of a joke on their current consistency (markings, roll marks, changing model names)…. It just seems that colt is a shell of its former self in terms of finish quality. I sold a colt NIB upper last year that I never used and the buyer wanted pics of the upper markings just to make sure it was there- like he’d seen other examples that didn’t. That doesn’t scream “brand consistency” to me. Would I trust a colt rifle? Yes. Have I given up on buying on current production colts? Yes. I just think there are better, more consistent makers out there . I’m no Larue fanboy but the 5.56 UU kit with LT lower was a killer gun for the money IMO. |

The inconsistency is in markings. The only time marking might matter is in the used market, in order to prove it’s a Colt part.
If the guns are just as reliable and you are buying it to use it, then the inconsistency in markings will not matter. Until I start seeing rifles failing to be reliable, I’ll still buy new Colts. I may not pick up a used part without markings though. |

There may be some time frames that were better than others though. |

Quoted: Why can't Colt make a decent C marking anymore? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: If a teacher asks you to put your name on your college homework, you don't sign with a crayon. I think this is my issue with the current laser markings Colt is doing, they basically look like a child did it. I realized this after getting a new G rifle. It has engraved markings but they look very nice, so do other manufacturers. Something is just off with the way Colt is doing it. I’d still prefer an old stamp Colt roll mark though. |

Quoted: Ok, I get it. Let me ask this then. What's the current appeal to buy Colt given the inconsistency? View Quote Still it's disappointing seeing them skimping on the cosmetic details. I do however enjoying owning a $1200 colt that's worth $3-4k now. I have never lost money on a Colt AR. |

Colt is very consistent on things that matter, like gas port size, chamber dimensions, thread dimensions, carrier assembly. |

What’s the current appeal to buy Colt given the inconsistency? The markings do not affect function, I've yet to have anything Colt disappoint me. Reliability is my primary concern. People buy rifles for different reasons....I can't answer for others. |

My last OEM had no markings on the bolt, FYI.
Expect inconsistency. |

I bought 4 of the OEMs and all had the same type of C mark. Only one had MPC on bolt. I miss the stamped days |

View Quote Damn skippy they are. In ‘08 or ‘09 I took a brand new LE6920 out of a box (in the parking lot at the range), dumped some CLP in the ejection port, threw a Vickers sling on it, loaded up a sack full of mags and took 1st in irons division at an outlaw carbine match. I was amazed that I hit anything, never even confirmed zero, first shot was when the timer beeped on the first stage. |

I've also handled no less than 5 now at a LGS that have zero markings. Also, seen at least 3 new CR6920s with bolts etched MP followed by a subcontractor letter/number stamped below it. Colt is fuckey. |
