I was poking around and I noticed that Colt now lists what appears to be a part number for a 13 inch semi auto and full auto CM7.
https://www.colt.com/detail-page/cm762-16s https://www.colt.com/detail-page/cm762-13a https://www.colt.com/detail-page/cm762-13s I did not notice this before. The picture is still of a 16 inch gun. Are these part numbers new? Maybe there is life in the Colt 308 yet. Edit: Customer service on the commercial side just told me that the CM7 will be back in production next year!!! Well I guess I will need to squirrel some money away. I remain skeptical tho. Now they need to announce the M5 for domestic sales. |

Don’t tease me. I’ve been fielding for a 901 and this would scratch that itch for me.

The part that gives me the most pause is how disinterested their marketing appears to be of the black rifles. They don’t even post images on Instagram of stuff other than their revolvers and 1911s.

Damn this is good news, I hope it comes to pass. An interesting firearm I would love to own. |

Is not the MSRP on these $2299 or more.
Add newness up charge over MSRP and you are looking at $2500 or more. F that. |

View Quote This is what I remember, and you could get them in the low $1300s. Did they come back out with a higher price tag at some point? $1499 I’m happy to see that Colt is rereleasing a more modern factory rifle, of any caliber, with a full length m-lok rail and quality flip-up sights. They will fly off the shelves, unlike the tired SOCOM rerelease. |

I never really followed the Colt .308 rifle closely.
Is there a good compiled list somewhere of what variants(model name/numbers) were offered over the years and what the differences were between them? |

I’m pretty sure that they were available in the $1300s from some larger distributors, but I can’t find an old ad proving it. The 716i is starting to sell well, so Colt needs to stay within a stone’s throw of the SIG, if they want to dominate the .308 market. |

I really just need an upper! I’m hoping Colt does something/anything with 901 production

I've been drooling the last couple of days over the prospect of the CM7. Can anyone else also confirm these are indeed coming back? A collector on this forum says no. I actually would prefer the m-lok rail & adjustable gas on the CM762 16S. I might be panicking or mistaken about the scuttlebutt that has come out but also just wanted to check in. Someone please get on the horn with CZ.
This thread: SAR show haul 2021 Quoted: No 100% no more 901’s being made. A company bought everything colt had 901 related including all the 901 lower castings. They then made a handful into 80% lowers and I bought what they had at the show with them. View Quote |

Doesn’t Colt Canada still make them? If they do, I’m sure they can start being produced here or at least imported.

I would not get hopeful about a C7/CM762 either. |

View Quote Yeah, they still make them but now with a M-Lok rail system that is similar to their MRR rifles. They go by the C20 designation iirc. In theory they could be imported as "pistols" but Colt Canada and Colt have a non-compete agreement that I was hoping CZ would have gotten rid of yet have not for a variety of reasons unbeknownst to me. |

Although I have never had the official arrangement explained fully. Either way. CZ plz!!!! |

Although I have never had the official arrangement explained fully. Either way. CZ plz!!!! View Quote This is just about correct. I have tried to gather all the info on it in my Colt Canada collecting endeavors. State Department would have to get involved, its a whole process. I think there are probably a few people who really know the extent of the whole thing. At the end of the day, its not worth it for Colt, really CZ now, to dissolve the agreement just for the US commercial market. There are a lot of people who shit on Colt US prices as is, and CC prices after import and all the other added costs, like the CHF barrels and stricter QC, would make it sit in a pretty niche category for US sales that would be hard to capitalize on |

Here is an image from the 2019 product catalog. It states 'New for 2019'. As you can see by that, the CM series did not last long.

SIG released a new rifle that’s available in .308.
MCX Spear $8000 Attached File ETA: From the SIG forum: It’s not yet available in 308. The initial run is for a limited edition version like the Commemorative M17/18s. That’s specifically the 13” SBR in 277Fury, and includes a suppressor and two boxes of ammo, and that package costs $8,000. The 308/6.5 versions will be coming soon, along with 16+” rifles and pistol variants. I’d guess those forthcoming standard production versions will be closer to $3.5-4k |
