Any idea when they are due in?

We were hoping this month, but we need to correct some minor things, so we're probably looking to ship in March now.

OVERDUE!
What bothers me is that you have not updated or informed customers WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE! What appeared at SHOT is not the production version. What appears on your website is not the production version. Please update your website pic ASAP to show customers what they are buying. @Brownells |

As soon as we have one with those that is identical to the production, we will rephotograph. |

I can't wait to pick up my pre-order when it becomes available. Hopefully the walk in Brownells store will be open. |

I like it (the lower) very much!
I see the pinch relief they added in the thumb web area. I was afraid they would contour too much but it looks just right. |
|
A Brownell's charge on my card!
Edit to add: 1/22 order date. Looks like it will be here tomorrow. |
|
Happy to announce, as posted above, some cards are being charged and some lowers are going out. Unfortunately we had to reject some because we weren't happy with how the finish turned out. The ones that we kept are filling on backorders by order date.
No ETA as of yet for the next batch. I hope to see pics in the coming weeks for everyone's BRN-180 projects! |

Doesn’t look like I was one of the “lucky few”. Hopefully the next batch doesn’t take too long!

These were my thoughts, too, but I don't make policy, and truthfully, don't know the background, nor the extent of the finish issues. I wasn't able to see any. Since they were the inaugural batch made, my speculation is that we wanted 100% fit and finish for our first shipments. |

Here are some ipotato pics for you guys.
The finish is great. I think the engraver was day drinking though. There is one rough edge on the lower left of the magwell, but it's pretty minor. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File edit, here's a close up of that edge: Attached File |

Yeah, the spacing on the letters looks pr etty b ad. If you're not happy @janus, I can see if there's anything we can do after the fact. |

BRN, I laughed out loud reading your post--seriousness of the engraving aside, but I immediately thought of the Office episode where Michael says he'll send his salad back. Again, not taking any of the seriousness away, since anyone who's been on the forum over the past year knows how excited you are about the BRN-180 project, but I couldn't help be think of that scene.

Anybody who gets one like that and doesn't want it, send to my FFL for disposal.
|
|
@Brownells,
That looks fine to me. If you sent me a pristine lower it would likely have a ding or two in a week anyway... |

One item with the lower assembly:
The detent & spring for the rear takedown pin come up from the bottom and are held in place with the grip, just the like the ones for the safety. I think the rear takedown is a bit stiff and I may go back in a take and few rings out of the spring to loosen it up. Also, the Larue QD mount interferes with the charging handle. So I'll need to find a different mount for my MRO. Having the Pic rail on the back allows you to move the brace up and down. You can really get the cheek weld and optic height dialed in. |

received 5 of these lowers from my ffl today. wanted to say extremely poor packaging. they were just thrown in a usps box and were clanking around when my ffl got them. they have some QC issues with the finish, and there are a couple little spots that are not smooth like they should be. i would sell them as blems personally(im not going to sell them... just saying if i was), they are not worthy of a 1st quality branding. overall happy with lowers, but the quality control is poor.

View Quote they should not have been released. shame on you @brownells @brownells_ar15 the BRN-180 is the the most exciting new rifle i own. quality of the new lower needs to be exceptionally great. they should have been stamped with a "B" internally or hidden and sold as blems at a reduced price. the vendor/maker screwed you. should have used @mike_nds using your brownells design and specs. the maker you used sucks. do they even have the correct equipment to engrave nicely? does not look like they do. literally, "stop the presses" and ensure a(any) top quality maker takes over. cut your losses with that maker that spat them out and sell them as marked blems and get another maker. |

@Brownells,
If anyone returns one for the reason listed above, fill my order with their return. I’m serious... email or IM me and I’ll give you my order number. |
