Some years ago I ordered $800 dollars worth of parts from a Mitsubishi aftermarket parts dealer. They had a similar policy where you had to opt in for insurance when shipping, I missed this.
I wrongfully assumed they would send an $800.00 dollar order with at least some type of signature confirmation when I did notice and sure as shit, the package was shipped but lost somewhere in Chicago. It never made it and they bitched out and told me since I had not opt'ed into the insurance, there was nothing they could or would do. I figured they would at least guarantee it made it to my house, nope. Thank god I had used an actual "credit card" and since they could show it was ever delivered, my card issuer gave me a refund. When I say couldn't show delivered, like it disappeared FROM a hub and never got a "delivered" scan. Poof, gone.
I can see how this would be a nice feature on something like a $1300 dollar URG-i upper. Might not be so worried on a $25 dollar grip.
