The problem is to get it to run with 45 the gas system has to be super short......I 'd run super ...just go with a heavier buffer......with SMC I'd try a 9mm colt buffer and see what happens. Not going to compromise tha action.....I'd also make sure you run a premium lube like Cherry Balmz as the short gas high up in the pressure curve can vaporise stuff like CLP and turn in into an abrasive sludge of burnt lube and vaporized metal off the projectile.....

I can't help but wonder if the
Innovative Arms WAR switchable upper might be a solution though... It's intended for rifle caliber SBR builds that want to have the option of running supressed or unsupressed without overgassing or short cycling. Any thoughts on that, Rudy?

I have worked with the WAR in the past....but once again the lower pressures are hard to overcome the leakage through the valve and transition form the gas block/tube. My solution personally is to go with DI 460 Rowland.....I can just pop a 46 upper on any lower I use with 45.....and I'm getting 1700 to 1800 fps with a 185 grain hp out of a 16 inch barrel.....1500 out of an 11 inch, and yes 460 is an option....been so swamped in the shop with DI 10 mm and keeping up with DI45 and fixing all the blowback stuff that gets sent in (FM paid my mortgage last month)...
that I have been neglecting website, forums, and social media......hope to correct that in the coming year.......
