Let's talk about the "Improved Firing Pin" in the Rainier Arms .308 BCG. Apparently Rainier has done everyone the favor of using a proprietary firing pin that breaks after only a few hundred rounds... I have a Rainier Arms Precision Match .308 BCG (sku RA-PM-308-BCG-BLK) and as you can guess, the tip of the firing pin broke off. I purchased a standard .308 firing pin to replace it, just to discover that it doesn't work with the Rainier BCG. It appears that the Rainier bolt has a smaller hole/narrower firing pin tip. Of course, the "Improved Firing Pin" is not available for purchase on the site.
I would like to know if/where I can buy a replacement firing pin for my BCG, and I would also love to hear from Rainier why they though it was wise to deviate from the industry standard on the firing pin, which is something that did not need to be messed with.
