@oxford411 what I was told today is that my refund is "delayed" because their accounts are frozen. I smell bullshit, just like everything else that has gone down in this transaction. I will have a better plan of recourse tomorrow. Remember when I said I was screen-shotting and documenting all correspondence? That's about to come in handy. View Quote |

Update: got an email from them confirming frozen accounts but they can PayPal the refund to me. They got more frankenfuckery than just rifle descriptions going on there, but I guess I'll take what I can get. Jesucristo what a rollercoaster!

All a fella wanted was a SOCOM! But I waited too long and paid the price on a gamble. I'm sure Colt will return, though. I ended up snagging a lower off the EE for a pre-panic price so I've got a starting point. I'll keep y'all updated. I should just type it all out and post a "Beware of Charlie's" thread so hopefully nobody else falls into the same inconvenience.

Well they are ignoring and/or avoiding all comms since the offer to refund via PayPal. I'm just letting Chase handle it now they claimed to have changed banks since their accounts were frozen. So HOPEFULLY my bank can do something. View Quote |

So CCC does business as POTOMAC ARMORY INC out of a residential address listed from the ATF website at https://fflezcheck.atf.gov/fflezcheck/fflSearch.do
"License Number: 1-54-XXX-XX-XX-13405 Expiration Date: 11/01/2022 License Name: POTOMAC ARMORY INC Trade Name: Premise Address: 8906 CAPTAINS ROW ALEXANDRIA VA - 22308 Mailing Address: 8906 CAPTAINS ROW ALEXANDRIA VA - 22308" CCC website says this "We are a firearms manufacturer" https://charliescustomclones.com/about-us/ My question. If CCC has a type 01 FFL how can they be a "firearms manufacturer"? |

Quoted: Manufacturer is just a type of FFL; doesn't mean you have to have a manufacturing facility. Plenty of "kitchen table" FFLs are manufacturers. I'm not talking about the LOCATION of the manufacturing, I am talking about the action of manufacturing.
CCC presents themselves as a "manufacturer " of firearms. I doubt that claim. |

Yeap. They are a type 01 FFL and not selling factory rifles from Colt. They are skirting the law by doing the "assembly ". The fact their accounts were frozen as noted above is a indicator of the future for CCC.

View Quote It looks like raised markings and they also look like the ones in the counterfeit thread. I did steal a picture of the upper and posted it in that thread to bump it up to the top. Would you be able to look that thread over and post up some more pictures of it in there as far as the M4 markings and dry film? |

Does anyone have an update regarding the weird raised upper that shipped with some Socoms? I like most people are under the assumption that it's fake and/or a commercial copy, but if Colt is shipping them with Socoms are these being fed into the supply chain for contract parts used by the mil?

[#38]
Yeah. I believe you're right. I'm just really surprised that at least some of these ended up on socom rifles from factory. To me this seems that either colt is now just using fake commercial parts to fill any of their last socom orders or that these somehow must be getting into the mil chain someday. I'm also even more surprised theres no definitive answer on these one way or another.
