Dear Mr. Bill,
Please make a 12.5" Super Duty upper receiver group with an appropriate sized gas port. Everyone will buy one. Thanks. Sincerely, Hunter Biden |

Yup. SO many people have been asking for months, maybe years at this point. Geissele needs to do this. I don't think they should even do a proprietary gas system length. Carbine or mid, just pick one and do it right.

Iβd buy one!
At this point, Iβm wondering what the gas port size on the 14.5 is and if itβd work to chop one to a 12.5 mid.
I'm tired of P/W of flash hiders to make legal length of 12" for legality in CT.
Make it Bill! |

Everybody whines they want mil spec then complain when they get it!

1 in 8 giga Chad twist rate too?
Canβt say if buy one. But the good Lord knows I want one.
Especially with the handguard that comes on the 11.5. |
What would your ideal rail and charging handle combo be on the upper?
-GACS |
The rail from the 11.5. Same length as the 11.5. Infact everything from the 11.5 super duty with just a 12.5 barrel.

Anything other than a fully extended rail would be heresey. Everyone makes 9.5, 10.5, and 13.5 rails. Nowhere near enough companies make 11.5 rails and even fewer make complete 12.5 uppers with 11.5-11.75 rails. A 12.5 Super Duty would kill, but it needs to have a fully extended MK16 like every other upper. Back it off from the muzzle just enough to suppress and enjoy that corner of the market.

I made an account to say this.
Rail should be a Mk8. ~11.5β to 11.7β. With that key thingy at the top. Charging handle should be Airborne, or whatever its called. The one thats not huge. Youβd have the only 12.5β on the market that doesnβt come with a stupid skinny rail. Barrel should be chrome lined. Gas port should be meant for mixed suppressed use. Hodge 0.0625 works well on their carbine-gassed 12.5β. I donβt care if its button or CHF. Gas block should be pinned. Edit: Iβd like a non-govβt type profile of a similar weight to govβt, but not a dealbreaker. Think Criterion Core, Noveske, Hodge, Ballistic Advantage Hanson, etc. SSA-X trigger in the Form 4 complete rifle, but also offer just the upper. Iβd also consider selling an un-keyed copy of the 11.5β Mk8 rail. This is what it would take for me to finally buy a GA rifle. |

I am very happy with my 11.5" Super Duty SBR (bought as a pistol). Have 2000 rounds through it thus far, mostly suppressed (Surefire RC2 5.56).
What advantage would I gain using a 12.5" mid-length or carbine gas length (or proprietary gas tube length) upper over the 11.5"? Going from a 10.3 to a 11.5 or 12.5, I understand. I want to know the upside to a 12.5 over a 11.5? If I want more velocity and distance, I'll whip out my 16". |

12.5 barrel, 11.5 mk16, ACH
Also 13.7 pw, 12.7 mk16 ![]() |

It would appear that the Mk16 is more popular than the Mk8 for this, so please make both because Iβm more interested in the Mk8 than the Mk16.

Now that I think about it, a 12.5 with a MK8 would make a pretty sick mini RECCE type build.

Catch me if you can. These are the days of our lives. I sleep with an AK and ride with a four-five.

In a perfect world for this upper would you rather have a MK16, MK8, or brandy new MK1 rail?

Wait a minute... You mean to tell me I didn't have to chop my 13.5" MK16 rail and buy a different barrel to own a 12.5" Super Duty? (Chopping exactly one MLOK slot off gets you most of the way there, but obviously isn't as clean as a purpose built rail).
Seriously though, any length other than 11.75" for the rail is the wrong answer. I say 11.75" MK16 for sure, and maybe some runs of Super Duty's with the MK1/MK3 rails. I'd buy one of each. (I do wish the MK1 and/or MK3 would make a comeback in general. They are still some of the best rails ever made). |

Mk1 is the only intelligent answer.

Now people are
Linking to this thread Is it happening? Did someone call Bill? Someone at me if they make a fully railed 12.5β |
Please pump out enough OD green Super Duty 12.5βs to be able to actually source one.
Thanks! |

Mk1 11.5 on a 12.5β barrel. Do it

MK1 is so choice.

Every other SD upper is identical minus barrel and potentially gas tube length, and comes with a MK16. Why change that?

I think a return of the MK1 would be awesome, but I think it'd be better served as a stand alone rail option like the MK4 and MK8. Hopefully if that happens, a 11.75" version sneaks its way into the mix. (Also, if the MK1 is revived, can we get the 45 degree QD slots like the HK416 SMR rails? That'd be nice). |
Bring back the MK1. I don't care what its on.
Mk1 in OD green pretty please.
