Mark already locked the ARMS vs LaRue Vegas 2010 challenge thread. I smell something coming. Waiting for the pics of all the dead swan mounts.

In. I wonder if DICK Swan will walk by the LaRue booth and see it. I wonder if he even understands . . . quite possible. I checked out the show map online and dickwad's booth ain't too far from LaRue, same aisle, seven booths apart. Would be worth it to just walk by and deposit a snot rocket on DICK Swan's carpeted display booth . . . He'd sue you. I think he patented snot. |

I hope and pray that Swan goes by the LARue booth and starts talking shit or one of his cronies. Oh man, that would be fantastic. I also hope someone is able to snap a good photo of "the moment." Anyone at LaRue know how to work a camera?

man i have been watching this thread all day from my phone (can't post...damn you Dare phone) and still no pics!!!!! come on now!

Report in the shot thread indicates there isnt a pile to take a photo of.
Not sure the explanation, I had wondered whether ARMS would seek an injuction preventing Larue from bringing the pile, they seemed to hint in threads from other boards that they had gotten one preventing him from talking about the case anymore. |

Report in the shot thread indicates there isnt a pile to take a photo of. There isnt a pile displayed at SHOT. Asked Mark today at the booth and he said they just didn't have enough room in the booth for all of the mounts. He did say though that he has sent out over $100,000 freakin doallrs worth of mounts to replace the arms mounts. DAMN. |

Good to hear. I'll place another order as soon as my LT mount shows up
|

Yeah, I figured during a legal battle wouldn't be the best time to display a pile of broken competitor products. Makes more sense to focus on showing your own stuff, keep your nose clean so you don't get any more legal trouble for now, and let the quality shine for itself.

LaRue decided to take the high road and not display the pile of mounts in their booth. Also, they couldnt fit em all...
ETA: Oh, you meant the Troy girl |

No pics? Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehdMrkqyw58 Whoever made that video doesn't understand photo/display aspect ratios, it seems. He took a picture of every woman at the show, even if in a parka with a square millimeter of skin showing, and he managed to make almost all of them look like 8-ft-tall toothpicks by squashing the photos. Anyway, the video shows a lady at the Troy booth a couple of times. |

There was no gag order. LaRue took the high rode and chose to be polite and not display them....well, that, and he didnt have enough room for it all...

The room part cant have been it, he could have had Mfingar take a nice picture to make a poster out of and had that. I think lawyers involvement is a definate possibility, either ARMS getting one to get an order preventing him from doing it, or his own saying "please dont do this". |

Rgeardless what some my think, Mark Larue is still a stand up guy. Sometimes making a point, even though valid and earned, has its time and place. I am sure he will execute, but when it is legally, morally, socially, and politically MOST useful.
Until then, allow me to speak for me. FLUCK YOU < DICK SWAN! |

The larue booth was pretty small. It's likely they would have been swimming in mounts had they brought them.

Can someone give me the cliffnotes/readers digest version of the lawsuit between Swan and LaRue?

Can someone give me the cliffnotes/readers digest version of the lawsuit between Swan and LaRue? From my understanding arms is suing LaRue because arms has #17 trademarked. Specifically Arms is suing because LaRue's competing product to the #17 is labeled the LT-170. You see, there is a 1 and a 7 in there... yeah Or this might be the suit against LaRue (and others) for using the term "Throw Lever". I'm not really sure. I don't really care. I'll support LaRue, over some sue happy, anit-gun politician supporting... uhh, dick any day of the week. Here's to LaRue! Git sum! |

There was no gag order. LaRue took the high rode and chose to be polite and not display them....well, that, and he didnt have enough room for it all... His booth was tiny. And swamped with 3-5 layers of folks. I was actually impressed because some smaller outfits went all balls out with the booths and it seemed a waste in a way. Dammit, I ain't ever had a hardon for an AR derivitive like I have for the OBR lite. |

Can someone give me the cliffnotes/readers digest version of the lawsuit between Swan and LaRue? ARMS has posted repeatedly that the number 17 has nothing to do with the suit, its the design of the mount they take issue with. Here is how Mark himself put it on snipershide We were granted a patent for our system ... a good patent, that Swan & Friends immediately challenged. They got a couple of claims knocked-off, but the meat of the patent was left intact. That's what we build our stuff to, our own damn patent. It appears to the casual observer, us, that after they didn't get the satisfaction of killing our patent, unbeknownst to us, they took the cheesy route of trademarking the numeral 17 and also the shape the shape of the old and well-used M139 / M140 boresight alinement device. The product ours looks like. A product of ours we call part numbers like LT-170, Lt-171, and LT-172. |

Anyone with Pacer access check the status of the case lately? Case #1:09-cv-10034-LTS
I'm just curious where it stands. |
|
Seeing how the organizers of the Shot Show made Mark remove the "2010 Shot Show" from his original challenge title I am guessing they told him if he displayed them and made a scene then he would be banned from future shows. I don't think that the high road came in to play here just self preservation. To quote Dennis Miller, "that's just my opinion, I could be wrong".......

That would be my guess- or is it possible the SHOT organizers requested/forbade it? Not denigrating another exhibitor kind of thing, perhaps? I would hope LaRue posts a pic of the pile in his warehouse at least. ETA- what cansler said. |
