Got one for my Stealth, one for my OBR Heavy.
Played with these at SHOT and a few times since.. Such a natural fit. My hand falls right where its supposed to and my finger hits the trigger's sweet spot every single time.. Glad I can finally put 'em on guns!!! |

The grips were a big hit at the Texas Multigun (we had a couple on display, and were taking orders). There should be a bunch in the brown trucks at this moment.
We're working on the stocks as fast as we can, but we can't rush quality. Hope you guys understand. |
|
Speaking only for myself, I wouldn't want you to rush anything if it compromises the quality.
That doesn't make the wait any less frustrating, though... On a side note, IMHO, the grips' price point is pretty much in line with the market. Would I be out of line to ask what ballpark of a price point on the stocks? |
|
Got to fondle the grip at the TX multigun championship and I must say I do like it. At first I didnt think I would because it seemed kinda bulky and fat but once my hand grasped it my mind changed.

I must agree with the "more natural" assessments.
Mine just arrived, and FWIW, it DOES feel very much more natural to my hand... BTW, the "rough" textured grips aren't really THAT rough, but they do offer a bit better grip than the MP MOE I had installed. Pics later this evening, if you'd like, I have to get back to work, my lunch hour is up! |

I ordered the AR15 rough version and it's going on a 5.56 OBR, so I hope it fits perfectly without any gaps; otherwise I'm going to have to go with the AR10 version. |

Looks like I will be posting some Ergo Grips on the EE very soon....

Order in for AR15.Rough.UDE...pics to follow after delivery and installation on my OBR 5.56.

I just tried one today and it looks and feels great- like it was made just for me. This will definitely improve my speed and performance out there. I can't say enough about what an ingenious product this is! Thank you so much!!! (Oh yeah, if you look in the background you'll also see one of those new grips that LaRue makes on my M4.) http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z312/downtheaisle/photo1.jpg Jealous. |

Not really digging the Shiner Hare... I want my shiner cheer!!!!!

Looks like a comfortable grip. I have large hands and appreciate the size of the MIAD. This looks to have even more girth.
(I know that T's me up, but I didnt feel like making it ghey proof) |

I just ordered a black one for my HCS RECCE. And some more 20 round Pmags.

Ok, so we've seen BLACK. That might just be due to the fact that the MOE has seen some use (dirt, etc), and the APEG hasn't. YET... Your rifle looks great. |

Thank you! Gonna save my milk money up for a RAT stock next...

smith, I actually ordered the "rough" version...
It's a stippled-like texture, but it most likely won't tear the skin off your palms if you' re a no-gloves shooter. |

Just got mine this afternoon 25 April 2012. I got the rough in black for a AR10 & put it on my PredatAR 7.62. Fits & feels great, finally a swell for a lefty (and a righty). Rough is not too rough IMO. Better than anything out there IMHO. Going out to find a jackrabbit or a yote this evening. Thanks Mark & all at LaRue for another fine item.

Has anyone confirmed that the AR15 size fits the OBR 5.56 like a glove, or is it required to get the AR10 version?

Ok, ML wants moar after action reports. Well I tried mine out in live fire today. I have the rough model, I posted a couple days ago.
First, it's grippy but I wouldn't say it's "rough" per se. I usually shoot without gloves so I like a little extra texture. For background, I had been running a MIAD with the fat backstrap on my Colt M4A1 prior to purchasing the APEG. I've been shooting this M4 for 16 years, and the only thing I continually modify is the pistol grip. I have XL glove size. The APEG raised my grip angle and eliminated the need for multiple backstraps and so on. At first feel, I immediately felt an impovement in the basic ergonomics and control/natural pointability of my M4. The extra distance this grip adds seemed to give my booger picking finger a more natural position on the trigger. I'd always had to make a concious effort to place the pad of my finger in the trigger when using standard A2 grips. The MIAD alleviated this a little; but the APEG has completely fixed this for me. I found myself actually practicing to just allow my trigger finger to go to it's natural position instead of having to adjust it to the gun. The palm swell is perfect. The extra grip surface allows for a noticeable improvement in controllability. Much better than my old MIAD did. Only thing I might miss about the MIAD was that I always carried a spare bolt and firing pin in the grip core. Even so, there's no way I'd go back to the MIAD over the APEG. It was about 90 degrees at the range today and I shot without gloves. The APEG is not a rubberized grip like the Ergo or MOE plus. I actually thought it was rubberized when I ordered but I am not disappointed at all. It's still an improvement IMO, and certainly more durable. I'd had a MOE plus get shredded up on me on a 1 week West Texas hunting trip. I went back to the hard plastic grip after that trip and never looked back. So, I prefer the regular plastic grips anyway and sweaty hands wasn't an issue on this warm day. I went through about 250 rounds for familiarization and it was great. No raw hands due to the rough texture (which is just about the perfect amount of texture IMO). I give the APEG an A+, and LaRue Tactical gets an A++ with a gold star and a smiley face. LT, you folks are too cool. |

The APEG went onto my stripped LT lower very snugly, but no need to file or Dremel out the inside surfaces of the grip. Unless the OBR 5.56 is built onto a differently-spec'd lower, I would say get the AR-15 size, no worries. Worst case, if it is a little tough getting it to seat onto the lower, then just hit it with your purse shoulder bag a couple times. |

I'd say keep them coming. The only future improvement I could see would be adding some storage. A lot of us switching over from MOEs. MIADs and Tangodowns are going to be looking for a place to store our batteries, bolts, etc.
I'm sure you may have a suggestion or two about where I should stick my batteries and bolts () but that's not a tactically sound place due to the extreme conditions in there, so please hold your comments. |
