I boarded my animals at a new veterinarian shop that is not the pets' normal vet (their normal vet shop doesn't board).
This vet shop claimed FL state law requires them to do a physical exam and a fecal exam on animals boarding there if the boarding place isn't their usual vet even if they have current physical exam and fecal exam from their current veteranarian.
I couldn't press the issue because I'm on my way out of town, but I'm curious if anyone knows if there's any truth to this. They sprung this on me on the spot, it's costing me $150 per pet on top of the boarding charge, and I'm rather pissed because I had to eat the fee to get on the road. Needless to say, we won't be boarding there in the future. But I want to know if I'm gonna run into this anywhere else (the previous place I boarded the animals didn't do this, but it's not an option because one pet always got ear mites there).
