We're staying at my mother-in-laws to manage the sale of her estate and it's on the George Wood Road.  A gigantic tree fell over and took out poles and all the lines.  Those guys had to really work hard to clear all that debris and remove broken poles and wires.  We had no power from 12:30 lunch to 3:30 this morning.  Still the road is closed and there are a handful of electric company trucks rerouting the power lines that were replaced.  It was a yeomen's job to be sure.  Of course, at my old house, I had a transfer switch installed for my generator after that big October storm.  I never once got to use it!  Here at Mom's house, however, we had to resort to extension cords for fridge and TV. Better than nothing, I guess.  Anyone else lose power yesterday?

Here in eastern CT I had to drive (older medium size SUV) to Brooklyn WallyWorld for a scheduled grocery curbside pickup 11-noon hour.  Was an interesting 15 mile (each way) trip.  Dodging small branches on road during the trip to WallyWorld.  Had to go around larger branches on the return trip, and had something hit the roof during the return.  Wind with gusts with one serious sudden gust pushing me over yellow line and almost into path of oncoming car (I was paying attention, but it happened so fast I was unable to compensate for a quarter second or so).

One short power outage (a minute or two), and some glitches causing the UPS's to briefly sound alarms.

I have no idea what lines are made but when they burn with electricity for 5hrs. They smell like shit and leave this behind

It was actually sideways on the ground. The wire was in the hole in the center.
