Dear Second Amendment Supporter:

SB452 has passed the Nevada State Senate on an 11-10 vote. The above link provides a video clip of my speech during the Senate Floor fight on May 26, 2021. It is now in the Assembly Judiciary Committee. With your help, we can kill this bill there.

Please contact every member of the Assembly Judiciary Committee listed below and urge them to vote NO on SB452. Please do it today as there is no time to waste!

From Assemblyman PK O'Neill

Mr. Brok3n,

Thank you for contacting me regarding SB452 relating to concealed carry. The language of this bill is extremely similar to the language of AB286 that was amended out. This bill is sponsored by Senator Cannizzaro, prohibits citizens from being able to conceal carry at certain gaming-connected businesses, such as hotels and shopping malls, if the owners decide to declare it a gun-free zone. This restriction extends to the property line, meaning the firearm prohibition includes open areas like parking lots, with limited exceptions. The bill contains no requirements for gun-free businesses to provide any security measures to guarantee the safety of disarmed patrons, such as security guards or metal detectors, to prevent armed criminals from ignoring the arbitrary boundaries and entering. I agree with you that this is bad policy. This legislation was presented in a Joint Senate and Assembly Judiciary meeting on Saturday May 22nd. It was voted on and passed out of the Senate on May 26th with 11 Yeas and 10 Nays. It now moves onto the Assembly side and I will be a “Nay” vote if it comes to the Assembly Floor for a vote.

Thank you for being active in the political arena.

PK

Here's the only email I've received back so far. It's from Jim Wheeler.

Thank you for your opinion.  I would never vote for a bill that would take away your 2nd Amendment rights.

As someone who used to live in NV it's disheartening to see it go down the tubes so fast.

I'm not a huge gambler but it's nice to occasionally stay in a nice hotel, go to one of the restaurants, see a show, etc.  It looks like this bill is going to turn just about every casino hotel into a legally enforceable no go zone.  And its going to require all the hotel security to get indoctrinated with a bunch of CRT bullshit too.

I'm also a little unclear on what an unrestricted gaming license is... There are slot machines in the grocery store and gas stations, hopefully they're not covered.

Good luck in fighting this bullshit off.

Unrestricted gaming is any location with more than 15 slot machines; they're also the only locations with table games. Essentially anything you'd consider a "real" casino.

Your average grocery store, tavern, convenience store etc. doesn't meet that definition. Most them fall under the restricted gaming rules, and that's a whole different classification. This is clearly a law meant to make MGM feel good.

Dear Fellow Nevadan:

I am writing to congratulate you for all your hard work that contributed to the SUCCESSFUL DEFEAT

of the anti-gun bill, SB452.  Because of your willingness to defend the right to keep and bear arms,

this bill is DEAD!

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Ira Hansen

Nevada State Senator

District 14

Nice.

They still managed to cram the illegal, and unenforceable ban on home metal working down our throats though.

I guess that one will be fought in court.

While old news already, bottom line: a mixture of logic/face based arguments, BUT also leftist identity politics helped to defeat SB452.

I encourage all Nevadans and gun rights proponents to start to use elements of the left's tactics, techniques and procedures against them in order to help preserve the 2nd Amendment.
