Planning to move to Wellington, FL by end of this year or early next year.
1. is it a good area to be a gun owner? like gun stores/ranges( FA also) and gun shows around? drive up to 2 hours is ok 2. where do you guys store your guns, or let me re-phrase it, where is your man cave, if there are no basements? 3. how is palm beach in terms of class 3 items? 4. on a side note: I've got a 4x4 SUV with a supercharger, is it worth bringing? thanks |

I have 2 guns under a pillow and wife has one on her bedside table.
50 or so rounds all told but Naples. Macarov will say I am a little light. Are the border crossers here yet? |

You're moving to Palm Beach County. It is in the heart of Democrat country. Luckily, FL has a State Preemption law so they can't really mess with you. Bring down your SUV.

I am telecommuting, but don't want to go more north. Is there is better places going south?
I have few friends around Hollywood and fll. But there is much more expensive. Thanks |

Quoted: What's your budget and what do you want in terms of living? Right now, I think the best area in Florida is the Space Coast. Far enough from the urban craziness that is the Miami Metroplex (Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach) but near enough to everything that is worthwhile. Good weather, good beaches, not crazy expensive, and not also rural nothingness. View Quote 500-550k 3-4 bd 2 or 3 car garage to convert 1 into man cave. I live in Wellington. Great place to live. Property Taxes are a little high but you get what you pay for I guess. It used to be a bastion of affordable housing many years ago, but there is no such thing in Palm Beach County anymore.
Neighboring towns of Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee have lower taxes. |

Get the extra bedroom for man cave, garages get to hot in the summer unless you branch off AC to cool it

You mean your guns? Same steps for either garage or house - have them in a safe, Golden Rod or such plugged in, couple of dry silica bags for the inside, and then oiled up guns in a gun sock, which also prevents scratches from each other, and if there's a fire (and you're safe if "fire resistant") helps preserve the finish from the nasty atmosphere of water vapor and chemicals that forms inside during a fire.
Not a whole lot of point in a de-humidifier in a garage, unless you have AC in it as well. Wait and see - some folks put a windy unit AC in their garages for turn on /off aspect when they are in them. Otherwise, unless you insulate the garage door, it's a big drain in your system trying to keep your garage cool all summer. |

I’m a 47 year old dude with a well paying job and I’ll be living like a 20 yr old kid haha. I’m just bringing my G19 with me for now. ETA The RV idea may be a good idea. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about a U-Haul getting broken into in a hotel parking lot. |

I've done it a dozen times with 2 or 3 guns, and a knot in my stomach all through Jersey.
I am not interested in dragging all my guns with me. Just the ammo would get me buried under the jail in Jersey.... |

My advise is to not move anywhere in sfla. Move north & central in the sticks.(or close)
Spent 22 years(moved from NYC in 98) in broward & pbc. Saw it change, it's expensive, crowded, rude, anti 2nd, & overall crazy. Moved last year to N fl & been happy. Much less expensive, less crowds & traffic, nicer people, more spread out living, my range choices suck, & have to drive, but new closer indoor is supposed to be opening soon. |

If your son can't find work in the immediate area commuting to Orlando isn't terrible. Your budget will get you everything you want and more, and you won't have to kick hippies out of the way to buy groceries. |
