so after the wedding, was thinking of heading to Panama beach, then to Pensacola, then finally to New Orleans

This sound like a do-able trip?  prob 1-2 days in each location, and then fly out of N.O.

looking for beach, beer, fun, beer, beer

thoughts?  things to do while in the area?

Never been on the panhandle/gulf side - other than St. Petes Beach

Bonus points for places to go/avoid-- including in N.O. if you have any

Thanks all!

That's definitely a doable trip.

Take SR 30 from Tally to PCB. It's a pretty cool and scenic route.

Very doable and a fun trip.  Be advised the three mile bridge between Gulf Breeze/Pensacola Beach and  Pensacola (Hwy. 98) is out.  You will have to take a well marked detour to I10, if you are taking the scenic beach route.

No, I mean SR 30.

It’s longer, but it’s actually a cool drive. SR 20, not so much.

I would personally skip PCB and do Seaside and Destin.

What time frame are we talking? Spring break will be in full effect for the panhandle starting in March through mid-late April. That will cause huge fluctuations in hotel prices, and how crowded places like Destin/30A area will be. Traffic in Destin during the busy season is atrocious. There's only 1 main road (hwy 98) that goes through town.
