coming from Central Tx w/RV; wanting to go for years, planning a trip now for Fall this year.

do the crowd die down when school starts again; how's the weather?

any recommendations on a nearby RV park? thanks in advance

I believe the Diamond Mine has an RV camp across the road from the entrance. Lake Greeson would be the other best bet.

Weather just depends on the time of the year.  May still be hot as hell in the fall.

I would go during the week as that is when the fewest people are there.  Weekends tend to have quite a few people.

Best time to find stuff is right after a big rain or when they plow the field.

Be sure to bring rubber boots in case you do get there shortly after a rain.
