I was thinking of a meet (like cheesecake) after deer season/ beginning of February.
Is anyone interested. Location is the Mason /Brady area. Update 1/3/22 Looks like the last weekend in January is a go. So far I have the following interested in going: @mah827 @ManiacRat461 @Commando223 @mPisi @Lug1 @m24shooter @repoman_54r @Rodslinger @TLF @SouthsideSlim @electrojk @The_Dog @Scott_S @Skibane @hrt4me @m35ben @Cpn_Ron @buckshot_jim @ACEB36TC @Clint50 @ManiacMechanic @wolfjflywheel @charliedontsurf @Chas8008 This is too early for spring break. I will leave it up to consensus whether it should be a child friendly event or not. Can your kids hold their likker? Since this is modeled after cheesecake at wolfy's I kind of doubt it. Do we want to make it a family friendly or adult only? Let me hear from all interested. If there is enough interest in both I might be able to set up two events. I am open to anything in reason. Bring whatever toys you like. We can do skeet, steel targets, anything you like. Tracers will depend on the burn ban status in the county. |
|
I have the place to shoot and camp. I need ideas for food and activities. The range will be used.

My body is willing. Work dependent. Firming up a date helps.
Will there be a pelosi? |

Quoted: How does your property, road in and you feel about big ass rvs? Hookups not needed. Keg O Death optional. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/12621/20201126_103145-1702564.jpg View Quote |

I'd be interested. My ranch is in Brady, near the lake. Sounds fun.

Sounds like a plan. I know where it's at but never eaten there. I normally just stop by Mac's and we grab something, or just hit Walmart and cook ourselves. I park my travel trailer on the gun range, because it's nice and quiet in the evenings - because we're the only ones there. During the day I'm on my place. :)
Everyone at the lake store knows me - I was just there two weeks ago shooting the BS with Sonja and Mike. I actually live in Springtown, so I don't live on my ranch. There was no industry in Brady for what I do and no openings at the hospital for my wife as an RN. But that being said, my father-in-law lives in Brady, my wife's cousins have a farm in Richland Springs - heck my wife, brother-in-law and most all her family were born in the San Saba hospital - back when it had one. And the Brady hospital has stitched me up many times. Ranching isn't easy. :) I should be rolling back through in the next week or two. I want it to get a bit cooler before I get serious into hunting. I'll give you a shout and we can get together. |

So far the last weekend of January or the first weekend in February seems open.
Get back to me with your available dates. I'm open. |

Quoted: Winter = snowball fights, sledding, ice fishing, etc View Quote Winter in Brady = frozen cactus fights, sledding is falling on your ass when you step out to take a leak at 2am, and ice fishing is reaching in the cooler to get another beer. We're used to the cold weather. Just kidding, I hate cold weather except that I do hunt, so I wait until it gets miserable. Now you being from Canada is a bit different. I plug my diesel truck in when it gets to low 30's......she's a bit grumpy and I wear more damn clothes than you can imagine when I'm hunting. |

I can probably do late Jan, early Feb.
March is filling up fast for me though. |
|
I work for myself. The wife and I have no travel plans in the first few months of 2022. So...
And I probably won't inflict Dog Mahal on you. I'm pretty happy camping out of the Jeep on solo trips. |

If God wanted Texans to ski he would have made cow shit white.

I'm sure interested.
What distance are we talking regarding the range? I have portable target steel and stands I can bring. I'd also be happy to cook tablitas again, but I don't have a portable grill to bring. |
|
I'm definitely interested.
Would Tannerite piss off the neighbors a little too much? |

View Quote That's up to Gregg as it's his show. I can rent out the lake range for just us for next to nothing. I also have a grill in my travel trailer, just have to bolt the legs on and done. Plus they have grills. The range I would say is about 500yds. Tannerite they don't care but they do expect shooting to end at I believe 5 or 6 pm. If I'm hunting it might mess me up a bit but many people do it out there. I did have to call the fire dept. a couple months ago because my foreman and I came off the place and the range was on fire. Seemed like tracers set it off. They came out and took care of it. The firetruck actually got stuck and as I was walking up to my trailer to get my F250 to help he got out. Interesting evening. Gregg is this on your place or at the lake? |
|
My range is about 100 yards from the house. I am in the process of moving it from around the house. Terrified dog prompted the move. She hates loud noises. It will all be ready by then.
I'm 20+miles out of town. No one notices explosions. I'm about 1/2 mile from the San Saba river. Hogs are always a possibility. |

@Rodslinger
Does Brady still have the "Frost on the Cactus" shoot? |

The rv spaces are for the hunters. Hope they move their trailers right after season ends.

Only one leaves his here after the season is over. He may leave it if he has food in the freezer but they usually take the food home if they aren't going to come back for awhile. I can make it work either way.
