If you still wanted to set something up I'm sure the Shawano Gun Club would be willing to host. P.M me for more info!

I've forwarded the Shawano Gun Club contact info to Jeff at Modern Tactical Shooting.
I'm hoping for a training session in Oct or Nov this year.
Either me or him will update this thread with the current info as it comes out.
I'll @ the people in this thread when that happens.

I haven't heard anything back from Jeff yet and I don't want to keep bothering him about this.

@Quiganomics

@PFC_Kramer

I've reached out to the Critical Impact Group to see if they'd be interested in teaching a class this fall.
Hopefully we can make this happen this year.
I'll update the thread if I hear back.

I spoke with Adrian from Critical Impact Group and he's a member at the Winnequah Gun Club, so finding a range is not an issue.
We can either do a two day class during the week (Thurs. & Fri.) or a one day class on a weekend.
I'd like to get this training scheduled in the first two weeks of Oct.
Guys, let me know what you think will work best.
My schedule is quite flexible, so I'm open to whatever, I just want to do some training.
If you guys have prior training let me know so we can do a Carbine 2 or 3 class.

I'm off Oct 8-14, though theres a 2 hr zoom meeting on Oct 12 I have to do

With enough notice I can get the kids into aftercare if needed.

Okay.
Maybe we should try to set it up for the 13th and 14th if everyone would be okay with a two day class.
I know I could use some time off to do fun stuff!

I just saw this thread. For what it’s worth if anyone ever wants to host a class for an instructor I can set them up at the Marinette Police Range. They have a 50 yard training bay and charge a $20 range fee.

The cost would be dependent on how many people sign up.
Ideally, if we got 7-10, it would around $170-$200, but we should wait until Adrian chimes in for final cost.

I think I can do the 13th and 14th, though this time of year a one day class might be easier.

What would the hours be?

Carbine/Pistol?

How many rounds would we be looking at total?

Not sure yet on those questions.
At this point I'm just trying to get enough people interested in taking a class.
I'll email Adrian to see if he can chime in and give more details.

Adrian formerly of PODS in Dane county?
I thought he went to Vortex.

I haven't attended a class since 2018.
I'd be up for it depending on the details.

Hey all! Sorry for jumping in late to this been a busy week. Been talking with Corey about what you guys are looking for. Unfortunately I already have October 13-14 booked for a contract course, and as I told Corey, my wife is running for Sheriff here in Iowa County, so my weekends are totally shot until November 8.

If we are looking for two days that adjoin a weekend I have currently have available:
October 10-11
October 17-18
October 24-25
(all Monday-Tuesday)

For a one day course I could make other days work but they'd have to be in the middle of the week.

Otherwise, we can shoot for something in spring, or potentially an indoor handgun-only class this winter.

With range fees which I'll include in your price, ball park costs for 6 people $225 per day, 8 $175, 10 $150, 12

Ammo - usually a full day of training 300 rounds is a safe number to bring, but if we have a smaller group and we move quickly, 500 of each might not be a bad idea just in case. But I can limit round counts if people are concerned about costs and dipping into the reserve!

24/25 best for me; dentist on the 10th (might be able to reschedule), middle date is a no-go.

Pending approval of Wife Unit, of course (should be ok)

are the two day weekday options twice as much content as a 1 day weekend course?
i'd really prefer a weekend course, and would be ok waiting until November if that's the case, but i may be able to make a weekday course

I think the problem is getting enough people that are interested.
I figured there's enough people in that area of WI that it wouldn't be a problem.
Looking at the people that are interested, we have 4 including myself.
I don't think it's feasible at this point to try for an October date unless more people reply in this thread or email me.
We'll be paying way too much if it's only 4 people and a one day course.
I'll email Adrian and see what the cost would be if only 4 people attended and post it up.

Link Posted: 9/9/2022 3:57:34 PM EDT
[#37]
Okay, I confirmed with the instructor.
If only four people are going to attend the class, it would be $250 each.
Would anyone be willing to commit to either Oct. 24th or 25th?
Link Posted: 9/12/2022 9:35:17 PM EDT

25th would be better than 24th, since wife is off work that day.  So, sure, 100% for that day.  80% for the 24th

Any more info on the prospective course?
Link Posted: 9/12/2022 11:42:53 PM EDT

I should be able to do either of those days. Monday would be preferable, but I can make Tuesday work if need be. Is it just the three of us at this point?

Not anymore info as of yet.
So far it's us three including myself.
I'd like at least 4.
I'll email Bacos again and see if the 25th would work.
I think that's going to be the day.

What kind of experience is required for this? I have shot plenty off a bench and standing in front of the target, but never moving or any kind of tactical drills.

how does the content differ from the 1 day to the 2 day courses?

what kind of gun setup would be recommended?

I think we'd be best off to start with a basic carbine 1 course, because I don't know the experience level of the other guys.
You'd want at minimum:
AR type rifle or AK type rifle
Magazines
Some kind of belt set up
And at least two magazine pouches
Ammo
Ear protection
Eye protection

I don't know but it seems like we'll only be able to do a 1 day course on Tuesday, Oct 25th.
Please see previous post with recommended gear.

I will see if Adrian can set up a link to sign up for this and have him post some details.
I'm going to request a Carbine 1 class.
