Looking for places to shoot outside, best I can find so far is Panther Top. Anyone know any good outdoor places or have experience shooting in the National Forest?

Panther top is about it as far as public goes.  The SD has one on quarry road if you have any buddies there.

Explore the forest service roads and you’ll find plenty of spots. Most are good for pistol, tough to find anything over 150 yards. Just be mindful of the rules, pickup all trash/debris including brass and clay targets, no shooting within certain distance from roads/trails or over roads/trails, etc.

Find a friend at Pickens County Sportsmans Club. There's an indoor range in Ellijay, but it's terrible and the guy running it is a weird asshole.

I used to live in McCaysville, most of the shooting in the woods has gone away as the population has exploded. Cabins everywhere now.

Sumac Range in Cisco isn't too far as a crow flies from Blue Ridge, other side of the Cohutta WMA though so you have to go around the WMA to get to the west side.

I have a friend with a 800 yard private range in turtle town.  He does some Marine scout sniper association events there as well.
