We're on a big lake in Ocala NF and usually have hundreds of birds on our feeders daily. Zilch today. Just one crow and a red tailed hawk out and about.

Too hot?

Pretty much. I’ve seen it so hot in the ONF even the buzzards refused to fly.

It was a balmy 74 on the porch this morning at daybreak. Still zero birds, strange.

We have a bunch of nuisance red winged blackbirds, easily over a hundred. A bunch of doves, cardinals, blue jays, mockingbirds, finches and downy woodpeckers. every one disappeared yesterday. Weird. Saw one crow and a hawk yesterday and a pair of sandy's this morning.

The one crow was a conservative (very rare amongst crows) so he didn't go to the big black birds matter rally in West Palm Beach this weekend!...   The hawk didn't get the memo and was just looking for lunch...

Somebody has better food, or headed north for better weather.

One week update. Red wings and doves are back. Everything else still missing.

Crazy weather this summer, never seen so much north and south easterly weather, especially in the afternoon when historically it's been predominately south westerlies off the gulf.
