I dunno, but after the young dude behind the counter quoted me a price ($100) to pull a barrel from an M1 Garand..I gave up on them.

Danny's Gun Repaired died twice. Once when Danny died, and twice when his partner Scott died.

He was my go to guy for parkerizing.

Maybe I’m wrong, but in today’s market that price doesn’t seem entirely out of line .

This was 10 years ago when DGR was on Preston Hwy near the Fairgrounds.

For $80 bucks, I bought the wrench and fixture and did it myself.

Took all of 5 minutes.

Scott had an extremely rare condition where his body was consuming his bones. He was taking heavy doses of painkillers and monthly treatment from Brown Cancer Center.  He called me and another fellow the weekend before he passed and asked us to help his wife liquidate his possessions. I think he went out on his own terms because he was in too much pain.
After Danny Jackson passed, Scott had continued on working there but the FFL was actually held by a silent partner. When Scott left, the business moved to another location in Louisville. I don’t know if it’s still in business.

Scott sold me a Mosin nagant m44 for $90, still one of my favorites.  He taught me a lot and duracoated several of my guns before we switched cerakote. He always took care of me!
