With the 2 1/2 day work week that the politicians have time is getting short for passage of a badly needed bill that would help protect us from the anti feds and their gun grabbing schemes.

Have you contacted your reps about it? Are you going to the Rally next week to make sure your voice is heard?

Have contacted my reps plus the leader of the Senate. Won't be at the rally as I cannot travel long distance account of health reasons and it is a 5 hr trip one way.

The girlfriend and I are going down Monday to spend a couple much needed days off. It's nice having weekdays off sometimes.

If it's like other contentious issues it will be a filibuster by the dems requiring a "previous question" rule being used. They dont like doing this before the very end of the session. I believe the heartbeat bill went this way as did the religious liberty in 2016.

SB39 is likely to be debated this afternoon...

Senate leadership said they are planning on the Senate version of SAPA, SB 39, to be debated on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon. SB 39 will be substituted with the language from HB 85.

If all goes well, it will be perfected and then 3rd read and passed the following day, or Thursday.

It's also possible the bill will face a long filibuster...

Once the Senate passes SAPA, it will have to go to the House again, where I'm confident it will see an expedited process.

If you can, come to support Senator Burlison as he presents the bill and fends off attempts to weaken it.

There is a gun right rally planned for Wednesday, so you can make a two day event of it.

In liberty,

- Ron

“Senate Time” is a thing. This afternoon could mean 10 p.m. or not at all.

I'm kind of wondering that. I had to turn off what I was listening too.

They're waffling... I'm guessing theyll give them an hour or so.

Odd that these are the people decrying the restriction of police, but they'll be calling for the restriction of the evil police tomorrow....

No. There was a point of order raised. The President pro tem is consulting with Senate Research and will make a determination on the point of order. There will be total silence until he rules. Sometimes it's quick, but it can take a while.

Just muted mics.

They should have to play a recording of the declaration of independence, constitution, and bill of rights instead of the silence.... some of the senators might then pass their civics 101 exam.

Thanks. I heard them say that, then the mics went silent, I wasn't sure. It's hard to tell over audio.

Point of order was taken back

Amendment was taken back

Bill was "laid on the informal calendar."

Took all of 15 seconds.

Live to fight another day.

Becky and I had a nice talk with Senator Schatz's assistant; Senator Schatz was leaving the office as we walked in so did not get a chance to talk with him. We left his office in a kinda neutral mindset on the chance of SAPA getting through. They are using HB85 as the bill to push through which is good since it is the one bill furthest along. His assistant mentioned the budget was the most important duty on the agenda right now and that needed to be completed first. Senator Schatz is very pro-second amendment but we got the feeling they are very cautious on their approach to passing SAPA. She spoke as though she felt it was going to make it through this session...but...we pray so.
We spoke with one of Senator Caleb Rowden assistants. He listened to what we had to say and that was about it. Not much reaction from him.
SO......your guess is about as good as mine.

We went to see Schatz as a group, I think the 6 of us at his door way scared him. He was "busy" when we went in. His assistants were nice, however.
