I just stumbled across this area while using Google Earth.  It is smack in the middle of DuPont Forest, a public recreations area.  However, this area is marked as "Authorized Access Only" and it gave me the creeps.  What was that area?

Certainly, it looks like it used to have buildings but they've been completely razed, all of them.

It's the site of the former DuPont Corporation film manufacturing plant.  The buildings were demolished about 15 years ago.  The area is restricted because of contamination from the factory.

Thank you for the info.

It looks like a ghost, at least from overhead.

Go to google earth and look at the sat pics from 1994 thru 1998. You can see it in its former glory.
