On a request made last month, CCS released graduation data this week. It indicates 10% of seniors at Columbus Downtown High School now meet the requirements to graduate. 12% are currently on track at Marion-Franklin High School, 13% at South High School, and 15% at East High School.
12.5% graduation rate. Congratulations |

Columbus was well known for bussing for desegregation. Luckily I got out before this happened.
"The high court upheld Judge Duncan's ruling and in 1979 Columbus desegregated every one of its schools, a feat not accomplished anywhere in the country at the time. The district kept the busing program intact for 16 years before quietly phasing it out. One of its legacies was the creation of alternative schools, giving parents a choice even under a court order. Local schools should reflect the local community and its values. Columbus succeeds on that front. Morons and imbeciles abound.

View Quote We don't have public schools to reflect local community values, we have them to have an educated public that can function as self sufficient adults. It's not OK for local schools to produce dummies. |

I presume they are on remote learning. Those numbers don't surprise me.

Yet they don't say anything about our parochial or private schools. In class since AUG and are doing great.

Unfortunately the schools listed are primarily composed of Black students.
They’re failing when they’re in school, and failing when they’re online. Sad part is, these kids will end up as undesired statistics like their parents, and the cycle continues for another generation. |
