Big Bob Gibson’s in Decatur, but it’s about a 9 hour drive.
Jim ‘n’ Nick’s around Birmingham has several locations, it’s a little shorter of a drive. Wish I could help with your search further south. |

I haven't seen any in the Mobile area either. Best white sauce I've had is B'ham and north though.

Went to Moe's in Foley last night.
The chicken was a little small, but perfectly cooked. The white sauce was excellent. Not quite what I expected, but a nice balance of creamy, peppery, and tart. I also wish they had fully dunked the chicken instead of squiggling it artistically on top, but they cheerfully gave me all the extra sauce I wanted. Would defo go back there, and I am on fuckin' board with this Alabama white sauce thing on chicken. It's for real. Appreciate the pointers to it you all provided. |

How the damn hell did I grow up in Alabama and never once in my life saw any dad gum white sauce on BBQ?
Full disclosure— My mom went to culinary school and my parents met in a bbq restaurant (Red’s BBQ near Ft. McClellan) I’m now lurking in Bama hometown as I may move back in 10 years. Scouting land Maybe |
