If you need any help let me know. I have a receiver block, punches and a barrel wrench, I can build them from scratch. I'm gonna be gone in the 82nd airborne though, so if you need help do it quick!

Anyone ever go to the Deerfield range on Main St.?  It may be only a pistol range as it's always swarming w/cops.

Actually yes TommyTrauma and I got there quite a bit (Scott is a really cool guy).
It is a pistol or 22LR only range (down in the basement). Freddy is a friend of mine from like years ago when we both worked for the same security company. He is the "range pistol instructor" and a really nice guy.

And Vapor, after seeing how a couple of the people there acted (which isnt all of them, but these guys will give people a bad taste about the club) towards people with 'unconventional' hunting rifles...

Example.. I just put a scope on my dads Enfield a few years ago . So I went to sight it in at the open sight-in. Even when I do sight in's at the places I normally go I load it one at a time (even my semi-autos). But with the scope on this rifle, I need teh mag inserted or the round falls down the well since I cant get my fingers under the base well enough. After telling this 'range guy' that this happens, I had to show him. 5 min later I had the mag in. But after I got it on paper at 50 and reasonably on I took a break. A kid walked in with a sportsterized SKS and some old fart (70's) on a chair started berating the kid for having those 'damn military rifles that no one should own' crap. If that was my kid I would had gone off more than what I did (kids dad just said nothing). Walked over to the rack, grabbed teh enfield, looked at him and told him "THIS is a military rifle and are you gonna bitch at me also?".  Kinda the last straw. Had issues with that place 2 yrs before also and I know a few other people who had issues there.

I to am a member at the Beloit Rifle Club and have never had any exp. like those you've described. Furthermore we have several shooting leagues just for "military type" weapons.  Which by the way some of which are open to NRA members as well as club members and are NRA sponsored. I'll say that during sight in days we get every tom, dick and harry out to shoot/practice etc. there toys and it does get a bit...taxing. So safety etc. is paramount. Anyhow I guess I just needed to defend our club. And on behalf of the BRC apologize for your unpleasent visit.

hello. i live in elk mound, about 7 miles out of eau claire. they have tried to kick me off every range from here to china! why? because i shoot machineguns! they repeatedly call the cops on me at the ranges. they have even posted signs saying no full auto allowed. ( unenforcible without county ordnance )

now, this last week, someone shot a round through a house. might be on purpose as it was at an angle to the back stop. so, that range is closed for now. we usually end up going to big falls. never get bothered down there. kirk

Been lurking for awhile, thought I'd checkin. I'm in Green Bay, playing the NRABullseye game  for 20 yrs, shooting at the Depere Sportsmens Club. I must have bumped into some one and got BRD, as I bought a stripped Superior Arms lower at the fun show after Christmas. That's put together and now I need to decide on an upper.

That's all for now.
